The Dana Air flight crashed into a suburb of Lagos on Sunday. All 153 people on board and an unknown number of residents on the ground were killed in the crash.Witnesses below talk about what they saw.
Using cadaver dogs and cranes, emergency crews recovered 48 bodies. Local residents helped with spraying water on the fire, but after three hours, there was apparently no water to put it out.
Passengers aboard the plane included four Chinese citizens, and two Lebanese citizens (identified as Nadim Chediac and Roger Awwad.) The pilot was reported to be American, and the co-pilot Indian.

Delta Flight 5358 Lands in Emergency at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport
Delta Airlines flight 5358 had to make an emergency landing at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport (XNA), at about 10:20 p.m. on June 12.Airport director Kelly Johnson confirmed that the flight, which departed for Atlanta at about 9:20 a.m., was forced to return and make an emergency landing, after which, the aircraft lost the directional steering of its nose wheel.
He further said that all 50 passengers and 3 crew members aboard the plane were unharmed.
After landing, the pilots learned that one of the tires was flat.

Why: During taxi, the plane’s wing struck a lamp post, canceling the flight for 142 passengers. A damaged wing will require inspection before the plane can return to service.Spicejet issued a statement that the accident was minor.
According to reports, 142 passengers were aboard at the time, many of them quite disturbed by the incident. The collision damaged a wing.
An inquiry has been ordered. Action may be taken against the pilot and those who were directing the pilot. Spicejet’s attitude is that this is a minor incident. That attitude is being interpreted by officials that the safety of passengers is not of primary concern to Spicejet. This may be considered a case of negligence.
