    ExpressJet Plane makes Emergency Landing in Canada due to Flaps Failure

    ExpressJetExpressJet flight EV-4121/UA-4121 had to make an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Nova Scotia, Canada, on January 19.

    The Embraer ERJ-145, en-route from Newark, New Jersey, had to be landed in emergency due to flaps failure.

    The plane landed safely.

    Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Fatal Helicopter Crash

    On July 16, 2013, a Bell UH-1H Iroquois #N775AR flying for Kinder Morgan piloted by A.J. Blain was on a seismic testing mission when it crashed in Delores county in rolling hill country.

    The helicopter coordinates with a ground crew to position seismic sensors looking for oil and gas deposits

    The Bell UH-1H Iroquois belonged to Billings Flying Service.

    The pilot died in the crash, and debris hit and injured a person on the ground. There was no fire, but the helicopter is a total loss.

    The crash is under investigation by the Dolores County Sheriff’s office, the BLM, the FAA and the NTSB.

    The preliminary data states that during a lift operation, N775AR BELL UH-1H ROTORCRAFT went on its side and crashed. The one person on board was fatally injured near Dove Creek Colorado.

    Small Plane Crashed in Rio Grande River

    A small plane crashed in Rio Grande river just south of Las Cruces in New Mexico, on June 25th.

    The Cessna 172 was carrying two people when it hit power lines and went down just west of N.M. 28.

    Both occupants were injured in the accident and were taken to hospital.

    The crash is being investigated.

    KLM Cityhopper Flight Returns to Amsterdam due to Engine Vibrations

    KLM Cityhopper flight KL-1281 returned to Amsterdam, Netherlands, on June 24th.

    The plane took off for Edinburgh, Scotland, but had to return shortly afterwards due to engine vibrations.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Southwest Airlines Flight Returns to Columbus due to Damaged Tire

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-2803 had to return and make an emergency landing in Columbus, Ohio, on August 26th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane took off for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a damaged tire.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and twenty-seven people aboard remained unharmed.

    China Eastern Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing after Lightning Strike

    China Eastern Airlines flight MU-5414 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chengdu, Sichuan province of China, on February 21st.

    The Airbus A321-200 took off for Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a lightning strike.

    The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
