    Pilot Killed as Helicopter Crashes in Saskatchewan

    A helicopter crashed in a field in Kinley, Saskatchewan, Canada, on October 27.

    Authorities said the aircraft went down while it was heading from Calgary to Saskatoon.

    The 48-year-old pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the crash. His name has not yet been released.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Allegiant Airlines Flight Returns to Orlando Sanford Airport After Bird Strike

    Allegiant Airlines flight G4-2292 returned to Orlando Sanford International Airport, Florida, on August 22nd.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Syracuse, New York, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Where: Wellington
    When: Wednesday Sep 02, 2009
    Who: 95 passengers
    Why: Ten minutes after takeoff, smoke was streaming from the plane’s right engine, and the cabin filled with the smell of burning rubber. The plane diverted to Wellington where it landed safely, and passengers debarked.

    What: United Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Washington to Portland
    Where: Chicago
    When: Mar 29 2011
    Who: 3 unruly passengers and one ill passenger
    Why: While en route, three unruly passengers caused the pilot to divert to Chicago for an overweight landing. The passengers disembarked, and the fight continued to Portland, albeit between four and five hours late. The passengers who disembarked were re-screened.

    Bird-Struck Helicopter Makes Emergency landing Along Hudson River

    HelicopterA bird-struck helicopter had to land in emergency at the West 30th Street heliport on the Hudson River, New York City, on the afternoon of October 3.

    According to the FAA, the Bell B407 helicopter was hit by a bird while it was some 6 miles west-southwest of LaGuardia Airport.

    The helicopter belongs to an aerial tour company. According to the General manager Kathleen Wiig, the incident happened when the helicopter was flying at around 1,500 feet and that the protocol requires immediate landing in such situations.

    There were 7 people on-board at the time of incident, none of them required any medical attention.

    The FAA is investigating.

    Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

    Lufthansa flight LH-401 made an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 26th.

    The Airbus A380-800 plane heading from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, to Frankfurt, Germany, was diverted due to oil fumes on board.

    The plane landed safely. Several passengers and crew members needed medical attention after landing.
