Why: While en route, the helicopter sent out a distress signal and had to make an (unexplained) emergency landing/crash which destroyed the helicopter. There was one fatality and two crew members were severely injured. The helicopter was carrying 2 tons of food.

Aeroflot flight SU-1413 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Novosibirsk, Russia, on January 3rd.The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Barnaul to Moscow, Russia, was diverted after the crew received a cargo door indication.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Small Plane Crash-Lands Near Leesburg Executive Airport, VA
A small plane crash-landed near Leesburg Executive Airport in Loudoun County, Virginia, on April 22nd.
The Sonex experimental plane was heading to Georgia when the pilot decided to return to Leesburg due to bad weather. However, as he was approaching the airport, the plane developed an engine issue, forcing him to crash-land in a field.
The pilot Joseph R. Bryant, 53, of Washington, remained unharmed.
The FAA is investigating.

Why: While en route (near final approach), one engine developed problems, overheated and was shut down. The flight was declared an emergency and landed safely at its destination. Apparently a generator failed, and that lead to the engine overheating, but hydraulics were not affected.An article attributes the emergency to landing gear not operating. However, this may be referring to a separate incident, as the date and time and vehicle registration on both events is not clear. (yet)
Pilot Walks Away from Cessna Crash in Florida Wood

Why: Just after taking off from Spruce Creek Airport on a test-flight to check his rebuilt engine, the rebuilt engine of pilot James Clarry’s Cessna quit. Eight minutes after takeoff, the plane nosedived and flipped near Port Orange at North Spruce Creek Circle and Tomoka Farms Road.Clarry came out of it with minor injuries. No one else was aboard.
Volusa emergency services responded to the scene of the accident.
Clarry landed in the woods.
