A U.S. Air Force Reserve C-130 plane made an emergency landing at the Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia, shortly after 5 p.m. on August 8.
The decision for emergency landing was made after smoke was detected in the cargo area of the aircraft, going from Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The aircraft had more 42 military and retired civilian personnel on board. One of them had nausea because of the smoke and was taken to Charleston hospital.
The other passengers and crew members were transported to the Air National Guard located nearby.
