    Army Apache Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing due to Hydraulic Leak

    An Army Reserve Apache helicopter had to make an emergency landing in a rural field near County Road 215 in Grimes County, Texas, on January 28.

    The helicopter was flying from Conroe and had just refueled near Bryan-College Station when the pilot noticed a hydraulic leak and decided to make an emergency landing.

    There were two people aboard at the time; neither of them were injured.

    The helicopter belonging to the 1st Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment was repaired overnight and was able to fly back to Conroe next morning.

    TAP Diverts to Paris with Air Conditioning Emergency That Sets off Warning Bell

    bellA TAP Air Portugal Airbus A320-214 was en route from Lisbon, Portugal to Amsterdam when it developed a problem with the air conditioning.

    Pilots made an emergency landing in Paris at Orly airport.

    None of the 72 passengers was injured.

    However, an online twitter post assumed that the problem was an engine fire because an engine bell was heard during radio transmissions to ATC. There was no fire.

    Medical Helicopter Crashes in Arizona; 2 Killed, 1 Injured

    A medical helicopter crashed near Apache Junction, Arizona, on December 15.

    The helicopter, operated by Air Methods, was flying from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport to Globe when it went down.

    There were three crew members aboard at the time; two of them were killed. The deceased were identified as the pilot David Schneider, 51, of Gilbert, and flight nurse Chad Frary, 38, of Mesa.

    The third crew member, identified as the paramedic Derek Boehm, 38, of Gilbert, was critically injured.

    The FAA and the NTSB are investigating.

    What: Taylorcraft F21 en route from Moscow to Slate Creek Idaho –Fish and Game Officer doing a fly by near rapids looking for a missing fisherman
    Where: in the Salmon River near White Bird Tuesday.
    When: Tuesday
    Who: Cold and alive, the pilot/Idaho Fish and Game officer Paul Christensen was found downstream from the Hammer Creek recreation site and boat launch on the Salmon River.
    Why: The plane’s engine sputtered and went down, leaving Paul Christensen stranded in the remote winter wilderness. When radio contact was lost with the plane, search and rescue set out to look for the wreckage.

    4 Helicopter Fatalities in Maryland

    What: a four-seat commercial Robinson R-44 in Maryland
    Where: west of the Washington County-Frederick County line, on the western slope of a ridge known as South Mountain, in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70.
    When: Thursday night
    Who: 4 on board
    Why: After a night of storms and fog, Washington County emergency services got a call around 10:30 pm regarding the crash.

    6 People Killed in Quebec Plane Crash

    planecrashboliviatwitter-676x434A De Havilland Beaver plane crashed in Les Bergeronnes area of Canada’s Quebec province, on August 23.

    Authorities said the plane apparently nose-dived shortly after it took off from a Tadoussac airstrip for a sightseeing tour.

    There were 6 people aboard the plane, including the pilot Romain Desrosiers, a British family of 4 and another passenger Emilie Delaitre, 28, of France. All of them were killed.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.
