    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at DFW Airport

    American Airlines flight AA-5957 made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on January 17th.

    The plane flying from Phoenix, Arizona, was descending toward DFW Airport when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Salt Lake City-Bound Delta Airlines Flight Returns to Atlanta

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2109 made an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 30th.

    The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Salt Lake City, Utah, but had to return shortly afterwards due to vibrations on the airframe.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Emergency Landing in San Diego


    What: American Airlines MD-80 Flight 1802 en route from rom San Diego International Airport to Dallas
    Where: Emergency landing onn San Diego International Airport’s Lindbergh Field
    When: Thursday morning 10/09 10:00 a.m
    Who: 145 passengers and crew
    Why: The pilot reported a warning light. It was reported that the pilot had to shut down one of two engines, but that is apparently not true. In any case, the plane returned to the airport and landed safely with no injuries.

    Fedex Flight Returns to Milwaukee After Bird Strike

    Fedex Federal Express flight FX-2415 had to return and make an emergency landing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 8th.

    The Airbus A300-600 plane took off for Appleton, Wisconsin, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a bird strike.

    The plane landed back safely. There were 2 crew members aboard at the time; both of them remained unharmed.

    What: Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Brussels Belgium to Tenerife
    Where: over Bay of Biscay
    When: Aug 14th 2009
    Why: While on the way to Tenerife, the windshield of the airbus cracked. The crew declared an emergency and returned to Brussels for repairs that delayed takeoff for about 7 hours.

    Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Flaps Problem

    Qantas flight QF-121 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Invercargill, New Zealand, on May 16th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Sydney, Australia, to Queenstown, New Zealand, was diverted after the crew noticed an issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
