    What: Scandinavian Airlines/Cimber Air Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Hamburg to Copenhagen
    Where: Hamburg
    When: Jan 22nd 2010
    Why: After takeoff, the pilot retracted the gear routinely but failed to receive the safe gear confirmation. The pilot returned to Hamburg and made a safe landing.

    The flight was cancelled.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Charlotte

    American Airlines flight AA-730 had to return for an emergency landing in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 21st.

    The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Heathrow Airport, England, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a possible issue with the flaps.

    The plane landed back safely. All two hundred and fifty-eight passengers and sixteen crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Flight Diverts to Wisconsin Over Medical Emergency

    A Delta Airlines flight had to make an emergency landing at Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on February 10.

    The flight, operated by Flagship (Endeavor), was heading from JFK Airport, New York, to Minneapolis, Minnesota, when a passenger had a medical emergency, prompting the pilot to divert.

    The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.

    Denver Birdstrike under Investigation


    What: United Boeing 737-900 en route from Dallas to Denver
    Where: Denver
    When: Jul 31, 2012, 9:00 a.m.
    Who: 151 aboard
    Why: The Boeing was on approach when it suffered a bird strike in the nose cone. The bird strike did not affect the engine or landing gear.

    No one was injured. The birds remains are being identified by an ornithologist.

    The NTSB is investigating.

    Horizon Air Plane Returns to Montana after Bird Strike

    Horizon Air flight QX-2489/AS-2489 had to return and make an emergency landing at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, Gallatin County, Montana, on July 2nd.

    The de Havilland Dash 8-400 flying to Seattle, Washington, had to return due to bird strike, damaging its pitot tube.

    The plane landed safely.

    No injuries were reported.
