American Airlines flight AA-5957 made an emergency landing at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Texas, on January 17th.
The plane flying from Phoenix, Arizona, was descending toward DFW Airport when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and declared an emergency.
The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Cathay Dragon flight KA-342 made an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on April 13th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Fukuoka, Japan, but had to turn back due to cabin pressure problems.
The plane landed uneventfully. All passengers and crew members remained safe.
Qatar Airways flight QR-240 had to return and make an emergency landing at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Turkey, on August 18th.
The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Doha, Qatar, but had to return shortly afterwards after its engine ingested a bird.
The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Mahan Air flight W5-1085 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Zahedan, Iran, on March 17th.
The plane heading from Tehran to Zabol, Iran, was diverted due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Why: The Cessna’s pilot made an emergency landing when the plane experienced emergency problems. Rescue crews found the stranded pilot and passenger and flew them by helicopter to Elliot; the passenger was taken to Elliot Health clinic with a facial cut. The pilot was uninjured.
An F-15 fighter plane had to make an emergency landing at the 144th Fighter Wing’s Air National Guard Base in Frenso, California, on December 19.
The jet took off for a routine training flight, however, it had to land back in emergency due to a landing gear malfunction. Col. Clay Garrison, a 144th Fighter Wing commander, said the plane’s wheel failed to retract after it took off and therefore, an arresting gear was employed to help it land safely.
The pilot remained uninjured.
The aircraft was taken for examining the cause of landing gear malfunction.
A small plane went down in the Grout Bay campground located along the Big Bear Lake, California, before 11 a.m. on October 20.
The accident happened after the aircraft took off from Big Bear City Airport.
The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed at the spot. His identity has not yet been disclosed.
According to the FAA records, the experimental, fixed-wing, single-engine Sonnex aircraft was registered to Steve M. Morris of Bayside, Humboldt County.
The FAA, the NTSB and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are looking into the cause of crash.
