    Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing due to Smoke in Cabin

    Ryanair flight FR-8886 had to make an emergency landing at Orio al Serio International Airport, Italy, on June 23rd.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Brindisi, Italy, was descending toward Orio al Serio Airport when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and declared an emergency.

    Flybe flight BE-486 made an emergency landing at George Best Belfast City Airport, Northern Ireland, on January 14th.

    The plane flying from Manchester, England, was descending toward Belfast when the crew reported an issue with an aft door.

    Hong Kong Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Hong Kong Airlines flight HX-693 made an emergency landing in Sapporo, Japan, on September 4th.

    The plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to turn back after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. There were two hundred and twenty-three passengers and twelve crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    SunExpress Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    SunExpress flight XQ-722 made an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on December 13th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane flying from Kayseri, Turkey, was on final approach to Amsterdam when the crew reported an issue with the localizer and went around.

    The plane subsequently landed safely on second approach. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    What: TRIP Linhas Aereas Aerospatiale ATR-72-500 en route from Curitiba to Cascavel Brazil
    Where: Cascavel
    When: Jan 10th 2010
    Who: 70 on board
    Why: Near Cascavel the left engine caught fire. The engine was shut down and the fire suppression system activated and put it out. However, Cascavel was closed due to low visibility, and the flight diverted to Iguassu Falls. Cascavel travelers were bussed from Iguassu Falls.

    Dourados and Campo Grande passengers were provided connecting flights.

    Alaska Airlines Plane Diverts to Virginia due to Smoke in Cockpit

    Alaska Airlines flight AS-1 made an emergency landing at Washington Dulles International Airport, Virginia, on February 15.

    The Boeing 737-800, heading from Washington, D.C, to Seattle, was diverted mid-air after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed safely.

    All people on board remained unhurt.
