    Regional Express Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Adelaide

    Regional Express Airlines flight ZL-4768 made an emergency landing in Adelaide, Australia, on May 12th.

    The plane flying from Kingscote, Australia, was on final approach to Adelaide when the crew went around and reported a hydraulic issue.

    The plane subsequently landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Allegiant Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Nebraska

    AllegiantAn Allegiant Air flight had to make an emergency landing at Central Nebraska Regional Airport, Grand Island, Nebraska, at around 3:30 p.m. on October 20.

    The Flight 8502 was on its way from North Platte to Sioux City, Iowa, when a warning signal indicated that equipment at the back of the aircraft was overheating.

    The plane landed uneventfully and all 6 people aboard, including 2 pilots and 4 crew members, remained unharmed.

    The aircraft was taken for inspection.

    Hawaiian Airlines Flight Encounters Turbulence

    What: Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Pago Pago American Samoa to Honolulu,HI
    Where: Pago Pago
    When: Dec 2nd 2010
    Who: 173 passengers 12 crew
    Why: While en route, the flight encountered unanticipated turbulence. The sky was clear but storms were reported in the area.

    Three flight attendants and one passenger were injured; one flight attendant broke her leg.

    The flight continued to Honolulu and made an uneventful landing.

    Airbus Emergency Landing in Greece

    What: Livingston Airbus A321-200 en route from Greece to Italy
    Where: Athens
    When: Sep 19th 2009
    Who: 211 passengers and 7 crew
    Why: When smoke was detected on board, the plane diverted to Athens and landed safely while an emergency crew waited. No source was given for the smoke but the plane is apparently back in service.
