A military chopper made a hard landing in U.S. Forest Service land, south of Rampart Range Road and Colorado 67, in Douglas County, Colorado, on September 2.
The 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter took off from Fort Carson and was on a routine training flight when it went down.
There were 4 soldiers on-board at the time; all of them were injured. They were taken to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs.
The incident is being investigated.
What: 2006 Robinson R44 registered to Midwestern Air Services of Kenosha
Where: one mile south of the Kenosha Airport, at 6934 97th Ave.
When: 5:30 a.m. Sunday
Who: Alan Sapko and Joan Anzalone were killed in the crash. Sapko, 54, reportedly played cards until about 4:30 a.m. before lifting off and flying into fog.
Why: Some fog was in the area at the time, but it was not known if that played a role. The FAA is investigationg why the helicopter crashed through the roof of a house in southeast Wisconsin Sunday, killing the two people on board. The five people in the house–the Wilson family including their three children–were all unharmed.
The two hundred gallons of fuel spilled but did not set the house on fire.
Witnesses heard the helicopter sputtering before the crash. The airport’s tower does not open until 7 a.m.
What: Alitalia Airbus 330 en route from Boston to Rome
Where: Boston
When: June 15, 2010
Who: 250 passengers and crew
Why: After takeoff, the Airbus made an emergency landing at Logon Airport after the number one engine caught on fire.
The flight made a safe landing.

What: Batavia Air Airbus A320-200 en route from Makassar to Jayapura
Where: Jayapura
When: Feb 7th 2012
Who: 148 passengers and 6 crew
Why: On landing in Jayapura, the flight encountered a strong storm.
Landing in rain, the plane overran the runway but did stop on pavement. The plane was towed to the gate where passengers disembarked normally.
No passengers were injured. The plane did not end up mired in soft ground, but abrasions on the plane’s skin, and lights on the runway were reported as the extent of the damage.

What: Ural Airlines Airbus A320-200 from Nizhniy to Prague
Where: Nizhniy Novgorod
When: Apr 14th 2012
Who: 100+ passengers
Why: The plane had taken off when systems indicated a technical problem.
Radio Vesti FM said that pilots diverted to Ekaterinburg where they made a safe landing. The departure from Ekaterinburg occurred seven hours later.

What: Donavia Boeing 737-400 en route from Rostov to Moscow Vnukovo
Where: Rostov
When: Jan 23rd 2012 2:00 pm
Who: 70 passengers, 8 crew
Why: After takeoff, the flight developed pressure problems. An alarm went off on board; the crew had to return to Rostov where they made a safe landing.
Some passengers passed out and others experienced bloody noses and ears from the pressure.
The oxygen masks were not working, although they were released.
The cause of the pressure issues has not been determined and the details have not been made public.
The flight made a safe landing at Rostov on Don at 3:15 p.m. A replacement jet was provided for the passengers.
United Airlines flight 273 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Spokane, Washington, shortly before 7 p.m. on December 21.
The flight, en-route from Seattle to Newark, NJ, was diverted after the Airbus A320 lost power to one of its two engines.
The plane landed uneventfully and no one aboard was injured.
An alternate aircraft was arranged for the passengers.
