    Crash in Bank Lot


    On Sept 25, Kentucky doctor and his wife who were flying a GDK International LLC-owned Cirrus SR20 G2 to the Chicago area to attend a medical conference when their plane struck a tree, a light post and several cars in Bolingbrook. The pilot had aborted a landing, and never completed the go-around back to the airport

    The wrecked plane ended up in a Chase Bank parking lot.

    The plane was consumed by fire. The surgeon, Dr. Narayan Venguswamy made it out of the plane but he was burning

    Witnesses tried to stifle the flames with a sweatshirt. He was hospitalized at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital then Loyola University Medical center, where he died.

    His wife died at the scene. Several cares in the parking lot also caught fire.

    Small Plane Crashes in Alaska; Pilot and His Dog Killed

    A small homemade plane clipped some trees and crashed in a street on the Anchorage Hillside, Alaska, on September 10th.

    There was only the pilot and his dog aboard.

    Both of them lost their lives in the crash.

    The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

    Tahlequah OK: Robinson Crash

    What: Robinson model R22 Beta helicopter en route from Tahlequah City Airport
    Where: south of Mud Valley Road in rural Cherokee County Oklahoma, two miles south of the Tahlequah airport.
    When: 4:30 a.m. Thursday
    Who: pilot Mark Mahaney, 26; Darci Scraper, 20.
    Why: The exact time of the crash is not known, but the pilot and passenger were scheduled to meet someone at the airport. The wreckage was found at 8:45 a.m. Friday. The helicopter is known to have taken off at 4 a.m. Wednesday, and flew southeast before striking the ground in a wooded area about a mile from the road.

    Mahaney received his pilot’s license on July 31. He had a two year old public intoxication charge, pending DUI charges in Cherokee, and is the grandson of former state Sen. Herb Rozell of Tahlequah.

    Tulsa Crash Kills Two

    What: A twin-engine Cessna 320 owned by Hazelwood taking off from private Airman Acres airport
    Where: rural agricultural area near Owasso north of Tulsa in a field near East 116th Street North and Sheridan Road, about a mile from the rural airstrip where it took off
    When: noon Sunday
    Who: Oklahoma Highway Patrol Captain-Larry Jackson, 49 and Harvey Hazelwood, was dock inspector for American Airlines in Tulsa. Both were killed in the crash
    Why: The cause of the crash has not been determined. The first evidence points to engine failure.

    Cropduster Lost in Mississippi


    What: Yellow and blue crop duster en route from Greenville, Ala., to Cleveland, Miss
    Where: wooded area in the Bogue Chitto community, Mississippi
    When: Friday
    Who: Monty Hudson
    Why: Hudson and his brother (in a separate plane) were traveling from Greenville and encountered bad weather. The plane dropped off radar in Alabama Friday–Hudson died Friday–and was missing until Monday. WHen the wreckage was found in Neshoba County, it was hanging nose down in pine trees at 5:30 p.m. two miles northeast of Bogue Chitto off Road 765. Apparently the plane had caught on fire after crashing.

    Currently, there are five reported survivors: the flight crew of three, and a woman with a child.

    The flight manifest lists 28 aboard, including 9 children plus 2 infants.

    A dense fog and heavy rains hampered search crews that included Mi-8 helicopters, an AN-26 plane and an An-74.

    Deputy of parliament of Yakutia Alexander Morozkin and the head of Republican investment company Victor Yefimov may be aboard. The pilot’s name is Mikhail Nikolaevich. The extent of his injuries have not been released.
