Why: While taxiing prior to takeoff, the pilot lost control, the plane struck an embankment and slid into a ditch.
Reports say that the pilot attempted to control the plane, but it did not respond. The flight was cancelled. Passengers were provided alternative flights.

What: First Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-300 en route from Pangnirtung to Iqaluit

Who: 13 on board
Why: North East of Iqaluit, low oil forced pilots to shut down an engine. The pilot dropped to a lower altitude and landed safely at Iqaluit.
There were Australians-a family of four and an aid worker and his father-aboard the ATR 72 crash in Laos. Forty-four passengers including five crew died in the crash. THe plane caught the tail end of a typhoon and crashed in the Mekong River. People from ten countries were aboard, including Koreans, French and Australians.
The Oct 16, 2013 crash is the first reported crash of Lao airlines.
Lao Airlines Flight QV301 Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-600, from Vientiene was about to land at Pakse airport when it crashed. No survivors were reported. Between the weather and low visibility underwater, few bodies have been recovered so far.
Rescuers in fishing boats retrieved some of the remains.
Nok Air flight DD7805 had to make an emergency landing at Surat Thani airport in Thailand, on August 30.
The plane took off from Nakhon Si Thammarat and was heading to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport when a large bird hit it, prompting the pilot to request an emergency landing.
The plane landed safely. All 200 passengers and crew members remained unhurt.
What: Kingfisher Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-500 en route from Bangalore to Hyderabad

Why: After taking off an hour late due to bad weather, the plane immediately developed a problem in its right engine. A fire warning alerted the pilot.
The pilot reported to ATC and returned to make a safe landing at Bangalore airport after ten minutes aloft. Anther plane is being scheduled for the passengers.

Vietnam Airlines flight VN-1544 veered off runway after landing at Noi Bai International Airport, Vietnam, on July 28th.
The incident happened when the Airbus A321-200 plane was coming from Phu Bai International Airport, Vietnam.
The plane subsequently returned onto the runway. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Nok Air flight DD-8826 had to return for an emergency landing at Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok, Thailand, on August 25th.
The plane took off for Nan, Thailand, but the crew decided to return after they noticed one of the tires had burst during departure.
The plane landed safely. There were 81 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
