    KLM Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Amsterdam

    KLM flight KL-891 had to return and make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on December 10th.

    The Boeing 787-900 plane took off for Chengdu, China, but had to turn back after one of the engines stalled.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    On Flight 447. pilots contended with escalating failures in their flight control system while alarms were going off and no natural horizon was visible to orient or fly by; and they were completely dependent on electronic instrumentation that were providing faulty data.

    2,584 people have been killed by Airbuses.
    5 additional accidents have caused 21 injuries.
    Three Airbus crashes involved a separation of the composite vertical stabilizer from the fuselage.
    Airbus composite stabilizers, rudders and couplers have also been involved in additional accidents and incidents.
    25% of new Airbuses are made of composite material, including the plastic vertical stabilizer over 78 feet long
    There have been 10 recorded incidents when A300 tail fins were stressed beyond their capacity.

    Many pilots refuse to fly the Airbus. Maybe they have the right idea.

    Rossiya Airlines Flight Returns to Moscow due to Landing Gear Issue

    Rossiya AirlinesRossiya Airlines flight FV-6483 made an emergency landing at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow, Russia, on July 18th.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, but had to turn back due to an issue with landing gear.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

    Fourth Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing in 48 Hours

    QantasA Qantas flight had to return and make an emergency landing at Hobart Airport in Tasmania, Australia, on the evening of December 9.

    The Melbourne-bound Boeing 717 had to turn back, just 20 minutes after taking off, after a warning system indicated a technical issue with the aircraft.

    The plane landed safely and was taken for examination.

    The flight was able to depart again at 7:40 p.m.

    This is the 4th emergency landing of a Qantas jet within 48 hours. The airline insisted that the incidents were un-related. According to Qantas chief Alan Joyce, “We have really high reliability. We have low levels of turnbacks compared to most of the world fleets.”

    Trans States Airlines Plane Rejects Take Off From Fargo

    Trans States Airlines flight UA-4629 had to reject take off from Fargo, North Dakota, on January 9th.

    The Embraer ERJ-145 plane was accelerating to take off for Denver, Colorado, when two right hand tires blew, forcing the crew to reject take off.

    The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained safe.

    British Airways Plane Diverts to Canada due to Odor in Cabin

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA-114 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada, on April 29th.

    The Boeing 777-200, en-route to London, England, from New York, was mid-air when the crew detected burning odor in the cabin, prompting the plane to divert as a precaution.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All passengers onboard remained unharmed.
