    Pegasus Airlines flight PC-2248 made an emergency landing in Izmir, Turkey, on November 29th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Istanbul to Bodrum, Turkey, was diverted due to a lightning strike.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    5 Crew Members Fell Sick; US Airways Flight Made Emergency Landing in Ireland

    US AirwaysUS Airways Flight 715 en route from Venice, Italy to Philadelphia had to be diverted to Dublin Airport, Ireland for making an emergency landing on May 19 because five of its crew members and one passenger fell sick midair.

    The Airbus A330-200 had 238 passengers and 12 crew members on board at the time of the incident.

    This was the second incident in two weeks when a US Airways flight has been forced to make an emergency landing after its crew members fell sick. Earlier, another US Airways flight on the same route had to be diverted to the same airport in Ireland nine days ago on May 10.

    The causes of sickness is not yet known. The sickness symptoms included nausea, watery eyes and dizziness, as per health officials in Ireland.

    Delta Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Atlanta

    Delta Airlines flight DL-2274 had to return for an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 18th.

    The plane took off for Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, but had to turn back after the right engine emitted a loud bang.

    The crew had shut down the faulty engine before the plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained safe.

    Turkish Airlines Jet Diverts to Germany Over Bomb Threat

    turkishflagTurkish Airlines flight TK1617 had to divert and made an emergency landing in Nuremberg, Germany, on November 30.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “The aircraft operating Turkish Airlines’ Istanbul to Frankfurt flight today has diverted to Nuremberg due to a suspicious object found onboard.”

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 124 passengers remained safe.

    “The necessary investigation onboard is continuing and the decision concerning the continuation of the flight to Frankfurt will be finalized according the result of such investigation,” the spokesperson said.

    Who: 414 aboard
    Why: While en route, a right engine experienced an engine surge. That engine had to be shut down. The crew had to dump fuel and return to Sydney where they made a safe landing about an hour after departure. Passengers were provided a replacement plane.

    Brussels Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing after Bird Strike

    BrusselsBrussels Airlines flight SN-3669 made an emergency landing in Toulouse, France, on July 10th.

    The plane was flying from Brussels, Belgium, when a bird hit onto its nose gear, prompting the crew to declare an emergency.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
