China Eastern Airlines Plane Hits Severe Turbulence; 26 Injured

China Eastern Airlines flight MU-774 encountered severe turbulence on the way to Kunming, China, on June 18th.

The Airbus A330-200 plane was flying from Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, when it hit severe turbulence that injured twenty-six passengers.

The plane continued for a safe landing.

Authorities said four passengers suffered serious injuries while twenty-two others received minor injuries. They were taken to hospitals.

China Eastern Airlines flight MU-721 had to return and make an emergency landing in Shanghai, China, on April 15th.

The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Hong Kong, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after a burning odor and haze was noticed in the cabin.

The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

The plane received substantial damage to its landing gear and flaps after impacting treetops outside the airport perimeter.

The Airbus A319-100, heading from Chengdu, to Kangding, China, was on approach to runway when it hit approach lights, damaging its hydraulic system, before finally landing without further incident.

The plane received substantial damage. All people onboard remained unharmed.

China Eastern Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing after Lightning Strike

China Eastern Airlines flight MU-5414 had to return and make an emergency landing in Chengdu, Sichuan province of China, on February 21st.

The Airbus A321-200 took off for Shanghai Pudong International Airport, China, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported a lightning strike.

The plane landed safely. No injuries were reported.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Eastern Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Aberdeen

Eastern AirwaysEastern Airways flight EZE514 made an emergency landing at Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland, on January 20.

According to an airline spokesperson, “The captain operating charter flight EZE514 from Scatsta to Aberdeen received a cockpit warning indication en-route to Aberdeen relating to one of the aircraft’s two engines…The airport fire service was put on standby but was stood down shortly after the aircraft landed in Aberdeen.”

All 28 passengers and 3 crew members remained safe.

The incident is being investigated.

Eastern Airways Plane Returns to Aberdeen Airport

Eastern AirwaysEastern Airways flight T34717 had to return and make an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport in Scotland, United Kingdom, on January 7.

According to an airline spokesperson, “The captain operating this afternoon’s T3 4717 flight from Aberdeen to Leeds Bradford made a precautionary return to Aberdeen, after receiving an abnormal right hand engine oil temperature indication during flight. The engine was not shutdown in flight.”

The Jetstream 41 plane landed uneventfully. None of the nine passengers and three crew were harmed.

A replacement aircraft was arranged for the passengers.

2 Killed as Small Plane Crashes Near Idaho-Wyoming Border

A small plane crashed in eastern Idaho near the Wyoming border, on January 4th.

Authorities said the vintage Yak 52 Russian trainer aircraft went down about 2 miles north of the Alpine Airport, Wyoming.

There were two people aboard, including Reade Genzlinger, 61, of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, and MacKenzie Ruston, 17, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Both of them were killed in the crash.

The FAA is investigating.

China Eastern Plane Diverts to Malaysia due to Loss in Cabin Pressure

The Airbus A330-300, en-route from Denpasar, Indonesia, to Beijing, China, had to divert due to loss in cabin pressure.

The plane landed safely.

No injuries were reported.
