Badr Airlines Plane Diverts to Port Sudan due to Bleed Air Problem

Badr Airlines flight J4-662 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Port Sudan, Sudan, on March 1st.

The Boeing 737-300 plane heading from Khartoum, Sudan, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was diverted after the left engine developed a bleed air issue that caused the oxygen masks to be deployed.

The plane landed uneventfully. All 125 people aboard remained safe.

The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

Air New Zealand Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Auckland

Air New Zealand flight NZ-101 had to return and make an emergency landing in Auckland, New Zealand, on August 20th.

The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Sydney, Australia, but had to turn back due to an issue with the windshield heating.

The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

Hawaiian Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

Hawaiian Airlines flight HA-8 made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 7th.

The plane flying from Honolulu, Hawaii, was on approach to Las Vegas when the crew noticed a possible mechanical issue and declared an emergency.

The plane landed safely. All two hundred and seventy-one people aboard remained unharmed.

Air India Plane makes Safe Landing in Mumbai after Tire Burst

airindia2Air India flight AI-626 made a safe emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, India, on June 9th.

The Airbus A319-100 was flying from Lucknow to Mumbai, India, when one of its main tires burst, but the crew continued departure.

The plane received substantial damage to its flaps and wheel.

All people onboard remained unharmed.

The incident remains under investigation.

Disruptive Passenger Who Claims Money Was Stolen aboard WestJet Flight is Handed to Mounties

What: Westjet flight en route from Toronto to Vancouver Saturday morning.
Where: Kelowna International Airport, BC
When: October 8 2011m 9:00 am
Who: unruly passenger
Why: A passenger who disappeared into the washroom came out and became “erratic.” He refused to sit, and began yelling that he believed that someone had stolen his money. The pilot made an emergency landing at Kelowna International Airport where the man was escorted off of the plane by Mounties before the flight continued to Vancouver. The man’s luggage was searched and nothing was found. He eventually booked a flight out of town.

Maybe he’s just a disoriented whacko, but the question is…what if this guy’s money really was stolen?

What: Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 en route from Fort Lauderdale,FL to Chicago
Where: Tampa International Airport
When: Mar 30th 2010
Who: 136 passengers
Why: After takeoff, the landing gear remained stuck in the down position. After circling the airport for half an hour, the flight landed safely at the Tampa airport, with emergency vehicles on standby.
