    Why: On takeoff from Baltimore, the flight encountered a bird.

    The bird strike damaged the #1 engine which began vibrating.

    American Airlines Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Phoenix

    American Airlines flight AA-1422 had to return and make an emergency landing in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 16th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for San Jose, California, but had to return shortly afterwards due to cabin temperature problems.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty-seven passengers and five crew members remained unharmed.

    Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Las Vegas

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-44 had to return and make an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on June 10th.

    The plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to return shortly afterwards due to suspicion of a windshield crack.

    The plane landed safely. All 164 people aboard remained unhurt.

    British Airways Plane Diverts to Iceland due to Medical Emergency

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA282 made an emergency landing in Reykjavik, Iceland, on May 10th.

    The plane, heading from Los Angeles, California, to London, United Kingdom, was diverted after a passenger fell sick.

    The plane landed safely.

    According to the airline, “The customer was taken to hospital locally and the flight continued to Heathrow after a two-hour delay.”

    Flybe Flight Returns to Southampton due to a Bee

    FlybeFlybe flight BE384 had to return and make an emergency landing in Southampton, England, on June 5.

    According to an airline spokesperson, “Flybe can confirm that flight BE384 travelling to Dublin returned from airborne to Southampton following a suspected technical issue. The aircraft landed without incident and all passengers disembarked as normal… Upon inspection, Flybe engineers did discover that the cause of the issue was a bee that had become lodged in an item of instrumentation on the outside of the aircraft… The safety of its passengers and crew is the airline’s number one priority and Flybe regrets any inconvenience experienced as a result of the delay to this flight.”
