    Air France Flight Returns to Charles de Gaulle Airport due to Burning Smell

    Air France flight AF-474 had to return and make an emergency landing at Charles de Gaulle Airport, France, on September 18th.

    The Boeing 777-200 plane took off for Panama City, Panama, but had to turn back due to a light burning smell on board.

    The plane landed back safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Norwegian Air Shuttle Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport After Medical Emergency

    Norwegian Air Shuttle flight NAX7109 made an emergency landing at Shannon Airport, Ireland, on November 4th.

    The plane heading from Barcelona, Spain, to Los Angeles, California, was diverted after a passenger suffered a medical emergency.

    The plane landed safely. The patient was transported to University Hospital Limerick.

    Air France Airbus A319-100 was en route from Paris to Hamburg with 93 passengers and 5 crew when an engine failed.

    The engine was shut down. Pilots landed safely in Hamburg.

    Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Athens due to a Disruptive Passenger

    RyanairA Ryanair flight en route from Thessaloniki, Greece to Paphos, Cyprus, had to make an emergency landing in Athens due to a disruptive passenger.

    The plane took off at about 10 p.m. on June 23, with 168 passengers aboard. Soon after take-off, a 37 year old passenger claiming to be a “mechanic” started banging at the cockpit door and tried to break-in.

    The pilot reported the situation to Greek authorities who advised him to land in Athens. The troublesome passenger, believed to be a Cypriot national, was immobilized by the crew members and other passengers while the plane, which was just 20 minutes into the flight, was turned towards Athens. The plane safely landed and the passenger was handed over to the police.

    The passengers were accommodated in nearby hotels for the night. They continued their journey to Paphos on the next day.

    A spokesperson of Ryanair said, “We will fully assist the Greek police with the prosecution of this individual. We apologise sincerely to our other 168 customers on this flight for any delay or inconvenience suffered as a result of this diversion.”

    Red Wings Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Engine Fire

    Red Wings Airlines flight WZ-808 had to return and make an emergency landing in Ufa, Russia, on August 22nd.

    The plane took off for Sochi, Russia, but had to turn back due to an engine fire.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and fifteen passengers and seven crew members remained unharmed.
