    Two Injured After a Plane Crash Lands on a Building in Vicksburg

    Plane crash land

    A small aircraft crash landed on the roof of a building in Vicksburg, after it experienced some technical issues.

    The plane crash landed on Friday, March 21, 2014, on the roof of Cooper Lighting building near the Vicksburg Municipal Airport. The passengers, a flight instructor, and a student sustained minor injuries.

    John Elfer, the director of Warren County Emergency Management Agency, says “It’s my understanding they were trying to get back to the airport when they were forced to land on the building.”

    The names of the instructor and the student have not been revealed.

    Air Canada Airbus Cracks Window Diverts to Halifax

    Why: When the crew discovered a cracked windshield, the pilot descended to a lower altitude and diverted to Halifax where they made a safe landing. A replacement flight was provided.

    Another Robinson Crash

    On January 12, 2013, a Sky Clear Aviação Robinson R22 Beta II was in Santa Maria Madalena, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on a training flight when it crashed into a forested area. Because he helicopter crashed on top of trees, some of the crash force was dispersed. Both the pilot and student sustain injury. Herbert Campbell, 39, and Gabriel Silva Mataruna Ahmed, 23, were the accident victims. They were conscious when the rescue team arrived but the helicopter is a total loss.

    Emergency responders were the fire brigade of Conceição de Macabu.

    The farm where the accident happened is on the edge of St. Mary Magdalene with Conceição de Macabu, North Fluminense. The Centre for research and prevention of Aeronautical Accidents is investigating.

    Glider Disengaged from Tow Rope Crashes in Texas, Kills 3

    Why: Investigators say that the glider was attached by rope 200 feet long, to another aircraft when it crashed during the climb. At 75 feet, the tow rope broke,

    The pilot, his daughter in law and her son died in the accident. The victims were named as 68-year-old Fred Blair, the glider pilot; his daughter-in-law, 32-year-old Matilda Blair; and his grandson, 3-year-old Andrew Blair.

    S7 Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Russia

    S7 Airlines flight S7-3278 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Surgut, Russia, on August 23rd.

    The plane heading from Norilsk to Novosibirsk, Russia, was diverted due to an issue with the cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Three Survive Helicopter Ditched in AZ Lake

    Why: Two men and one woman were aboard a helicopter on a sightseeing tour when it crashed in Theodore Roosevelt Lake in Gila County. The water where the helicopter crashed was 60 feet deep. Boaters pulled the passengers from the water.

    The two men and one woman were hospitalized in Phoenix. Julie Barba, 49, remains in the hospital, but Fred Cleeves, the 62-year-old pilot, and George Riedel, 64, were released from Scottsdale Healthcare Osborne Medical Center.

    Gila County Sheriff’s Office Divers attached a buoy to the helicopter to mark its location before removal.
