    PAL Birdstrike Engine Damage Cancels Flight

    What: PAL Airbus A-319 Flight PR-124
    Where: Zamboanga
    When: Sept 22, 2012
    Why: PAL Flight PR-124 was cancelled when engine inspection indicated a bird strike from an earlier flight. The 101 passengers who were scheduled on that flight were transferred to other flights.

    The engine damage occurred on PR-123 Manila-Zamboanga which had arrived at 6:18 a.m.

    Air India Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Udaipur

    Air India flight AI-498 made an emergency landing in Udaipur, India, on June 16th.

    The Airbus A319-100 plane heading from Rajkot to Delhi, India, was diverted due to loss of cabin pressure.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Cathay Pacific Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Hong Kong

    Cathay Pacific flight CX-253 made an emergency landing in Hong Kong, China, on May 21st.

    The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Heathrow Airport, England, but had to turn back after the crew noticed a cracked windshield.

    The plane landed back safely. There were 270 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

    JetBlue Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Fort Lauderdale

    JetBlue flight B6-1675 had to return and make an emergency landing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on March 15th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Kingston, Jamaica, but had to turn back after the crew noticed an issue with the brakes.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    Skydiving Tour Plane Crashes in Hawaii; 5 Killed

    A small plane crashed near Port Allen Airport on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, on May 23rd.

    The single engine Cessna 182H plane, belonging to Skydive Kauai, was conducting a skydive tour when it went down.

    Five people, including the pilot, two skydive instructors, and two tandem jumpers, were killed in the crash. Their identities are not known at the moment.

    The NTSB and the FAA will investigate.

    Gulf Air Lands in Oman

    What: Gulf Air Airbus A330-200 en route from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia to Bahrain
    Where: Muscat
    When: Feb 5th 2011
    Who: 136 passengers
    Why: While en route, the pilot’s illness forced a landing at Muscat. The flight was completed by a replacement crew, after the captain was hospitalized after a heart attack.
