A Turkish Airlines chartered plane, which took off from Sabiha Gokcen Airport on the Asian side of Istanbul for Milan in Italy, made an emergency landing at the Ataturk Airport, Istanbul at noon on August 5.
According to the airport officials, the aircraft with 96 passengers aboard developed some technical fault immediately after taking off.
The officials further added that the passengers will be provided with another THY flight to resume their journey to Milan.

Why: After takeoff, the plane developed problems in the right engine and had to shut it down. The pilot returned to Naples and made a safe landing with rescue services standing by.
Passengers were provided accommodations until a replacement flight came in the next day.
Qatar Airways flight QR-778 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Zurich, Switzerland, on November 19th.
The Boeing 777-300 plane heading from Miami, Florida, to Doha, Qatar, was diverted after the crew noticed smoke on the flight deck.

LAN Airlines flight 601 returned and made an emergency landing at Los Angeles International Airport, California, on the afternoon of June 21.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner, en-route to Lima, Peru had to return after smoke was noticed in the cabin. Authorities said the smoke was due to a defective food warmer in the kitchen.
The plane, carrying around 230 passengers and 17 crew members, landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The passengers were accommodated in another flight next day.
WestJet flight 1709 returned to McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, and made an emergency landing at around 3:31 p.m. on September 25.
The flight, on its way from Las Vegas to Victoria in British Columbia, Canada, was returned after the crew suspected a fuel leak in the Boeing 737 aircraft.
The plane landed uneventfully and all 126 people aboard remained unhurt.
According to WestJet spokesman Robert Palmer, the examination of the aircraft confirmed that there was no leak.
The flight again departed at 6 p.m.
American Airlines flight 1555 made an emergency landing in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 26th.
The plane took off for Los Angeles, California, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
LOT Polish Airlines flight LO-405 made an emergency landing in Dusseldorf, Germany, on April 19th.
The plane flying from Warsaw, Poland, was on approach to Dusseldorf when the crew requested emergency assistance due to an issue with the flaps.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
