    Delta Airlines Flight Returns to Atlanta due to Flight Control Issues

    Delta Airlines flight DL-1752 had to return for an emergency landing in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 13th.

    The Boeing 717-200 plane took off for Savannah, Georgia, but had to turn back due to flight control issues.

    The plane landed back safely. All 116 people aboard remained unharmed.

    The plane had experienced a similar issue on March 12th.

    Southwest Airlines Diverts due to Flaps Flops

    On July 23, 2013, a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300 en route from Kansas City to Indianapolis developed a problem with the flaps.

    Pilots diverted back to Kansas City and made an emergency landing. (See flight path below)

    None of the 54 aboard suffered injury.

    The flight eventually took off and arrived in Indianapolis at 1 a.m. with no indication if this was the same or a different jet.

    Two Killed after Small Plane Crashes in Ohio

    A small plane crashed in Turtlecreek Township, Warren County, Ohio, on October 16th.

    The plane, carrying two people, went down in a wooded area near the YMCA Camp Kern.

    Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. They were identified as Eric Hackney, 43, and Jesse Loy, 36. Both of them were from Punta Gorda, Florida.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Aero Resources Flight Crashes in North Carolina, 4 die in crash


    What: Aero Resources Corp. of Hazard Beechcraft 58 Baron en route from Georgia to Kentucky
    Where: Unaka, about 125 miles west of Asheville, NC
    When: May 25, 2011
    Who: 4 fatalities: pilot Mat Shuey, Tiffany Maggard, Kassie Robinson and Miranda Morgan
    Why: Pilot Mat Shuey was flying at 9,000 feet, above the area peaks when he reported an emergency over North Carolina when it crashed north of Lake Hiwassee near the Tennessee border, and started a brush fire.

    The wreckage was spotted on the afternoon of the 25th but the site was not immediately accessible. The pilot and three female passengers died in the crash. The four bodies were recovered by rescue crews on Thursday.

    Tiffany Maggard, Kassie Robinson and Miranda Morgan, who had all graduated from a Knott County Kentucky high school, had been visiting a friend in Alabama. The pilot’s name was not released.

    4 Killed as Small Plane Crashed in Chatsworth, Georgia

    A small plane crashed on Piney Hill Road in Chatsworth, Georgia, on July 1st.

    The incident happened when the twin-engine Piper PA-23 plane was carrying four people.

    Authorities said all four occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Saudi Arabian Airlines Plane Diverts to Cairo Due to Loss of Cabin Pressure

    Saudi Arabian AirlinesSaudi Arabian Airlines flight SV-366 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Cairo, Egypt, on April 12th.

    The Airbus A330-300, en-route from Tunis, Tunisia, to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure.

    The plane landed uneventfully. All 295 people aboard remained safe.

    The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
