    British Airways Flight Diverts to Shannon Airport

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BAW-215 had to divert to Shannon Airport in Ireland, for an unscheduled landing on November 21.

    The Boeing 777-200ER was on its way from London Heathrow to Boston when the crew reported a technical issue. It is believed that the one of the aircraft’s generators stopped working and the backup unit had to be used.

    The plane dumped fuel to shed off extra weight and landed safely at Shannon airport at 6:58 p.m.

    Engineers examined the aircraft after which it was able to resume its journey shortly after 9 p.m.

    American Airlines Airbus Returns to Tampa due to Engine Issue

    American AirlinesAmerican Airlines flight AA-782 made an emergency return to Tampa International Airport, Florida, USA, on November 25.

    The Airbus A320-200 was en-route from Tampa to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when the left hand engine was shut down due to over temperature, causing it to return.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 135 passengers aboard remained unhurt.

    Hungarian Military Aircraft Intercept TAROM Flight After Loss of Communication

    TAROM flight RO-316 was intercepted by Hungarian military aircraft on April 28th.

    The Boeing 737-700 plane heading from Munich, Germany, to Sibiu, Romania, was intercepted after it lost contact with the ATC in the Hungarian airspace.

    The communication was subsequently restored and the military aircraft returned to the base.

    The passenger plan continued for a safe landing in Sibiu.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Tampico, Mexico

    Delta Airlines flight DL-363 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Tampico, Mexico, on February 2nd.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane heading from Atlanta, Georgia, to Mexico City, Mexico, was diverted after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    American Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Manchester

    American Airlines flight AA-211 had to return and make an emergency landing in Manchester, England, on April 28th.

    The Boeing 767-300 plane took off for John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, but had to turn back due to a ‘maintenance issue’.

    The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    El Al flight LY-363 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tel Aviv, Israel, on April 10th.
