The plane took off for Mumbai but had to return just 20 minutes later due to a technical glitch.

JetBlue flight B6-2216 made an emergency landing in Buffalo, New York, on May 24th.
The plane took off for Boston, Massachusetts, but had to turn back due to a bird strike.
The plane landed uneventfully. All sixty people aboard remained safe.
Frontier Airlines flight F9-1334 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Indianapolis, Indiana, on December 4th.
The Airbus A321-200 plane heading from Chicago, Illinois, to West Palm Beach, Florida, was diverted due to issues with the fuel system.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 205 passengers and 7 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
Qantas flight QF2 had to divert and make an unscheduled landing at Perth International airport, Western Australia, on August 31.
According to the airline, “While travelling to Sydney from Dubai, the pilots received an indication that there was a technical issue with the aircraft so they diverted to Perth to have the issue repaired by our engineering team before continuing on to Sydney…There was a technical issue with one of the fuel pumps. There was no emergency landing.”
The 484-seater A380 jet landed safely and everyone aboard remained unhurt.
Alliance Air flight AI-836 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on April 9th.
The plane flying from Pathankot, India, was descending toward Delhi when the crew declared an emergency due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All forty-two passengers aboard remained unharmed.
V Air flight ZV-252 had to return and make an emergency landing in Taipei, Taiwan, on May 6th.
The Airbus A321-200 took off for Tokyo, Japan, but had to return shortly afterwards after smoke was seen emanating from a lithium power bank carried by a passenger.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 161 people aboard remained safe.

What: Transavia Boeing 737-BK2 En route from Sharm el-Sheikh to Amsterdam

Why: While the flight was en route over Croatia, smoke and the odor of burning plastic developed in the cabin. The pilot diverted to Zagreb-Pleso airport and made a safe landing although two passengers complained of breathing problems. Emergency Medical Services at the airport treated them.
Apparently there was no one available certified on Boeing, so an expert from Amsterdam was called in.
While passengers spent the night at a hotel, a replacement plane was flown in.
