Indigo Flight Diverts to India due to Technical Problem

IndiGo AirlinesIndigo flight 6E-591 diverted and made a safe emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, on May 19th.

The Airbus A320-200, heading from Vadodara, to Delhi, India, was mid-air when the crew reported a technical fault, prompting the plane to divert.

The plane landed successfully.

All 183 people onboard remained unharmed.

SpiceJet Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad, India

SpiceJet flight 616 had to return and make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, on February 23rd.

The plane took off for Mumbai but had to return just 20 minutes later due to a technical glitch.

The plane landed safely. There were 141 passengers aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.

Bird-Hit IndiGo Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad

IndiGo Airlines IndiGo flight 6E-158 had to make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, on August 20.

The plane departed for Delhi at 6:15 a.m. but had to declare an emergency at 6:30 a.m. due to a bird strike.

The plane safely landed. There were 143 passengers and 6 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

According to an airline spokesperson, “An inspection carried out by the on-ground engineering team revealed an engine fan blade was damaged beyond allowable limits. The aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service for maintenance at Ahmedabad airport. The aircraft became serviceable for operations at 1.30pm.”

Bird-Struck GoAir Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Ahmedabad

GoAirGoAir flight 368 had to return and make an emergency landing in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, at around 9:30 a.m. on November 11.

The plane, carrying 116 passengers, was forced to return after a bird hit it just minutes after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The flight was heading to Mumbai at the time.

The plane landed safely and none of the passengers and crew members was injured.

Acting Director of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport S P Pandey confirmed that the passengers were accommodated in another flight.

SpiceJet Plane Hits Buffalo while Taking Off from Surat Airport, India

SpiceJetA SpiceJet aircraft hit a buffalo while taking off from Surat airport in Gujarat, India, at around 7 p.m. on November 6.

The Boeing 737-800 was taking off for Delhi when it hit and killed a stray buffalo.

None of the 146 passengers and crew members reported any injuries.

The aircraft was grounded for repair while the passengers and crew members were shifted to another aircraft.

The airline said in statement, “Stray animals are a growing menace in some airports. This incident has affected our regular operations and hence SpiceJet flights from Surat will now be suspended indefinitely.”

The Civil Aviation Authority has ordered the Airports Authority of India and the Director General of Civil Aviation to investigate the incident separately.
