    3 Dead after Plane Crashed in Tokyo Suburb

    FireA five-seater plane crashed into a residential area of Chofu, near Tokyo, Japan, on July 26.

    The plane went down after it had departed from Chofu airport. Authorities said the crash set several houses and cars ablaze.

    Three people, including 2 occupants of the plane and a female resident, lost their lives in the crash. At least 2 other people sustained injuries.

    The cause of crash is not clear at the moment.

    EgyptAir Flight MS804 Missing

    EgyptAir Flight MS804 en route from Paris to Cairo disappeared from radar. At least 66 were aboard. The plane left Paris Wednesday evening and was scheduled to arrive in Cairo tomorrow (Thursday.) FlightRadar24 indicated that the plane flew from Asmara, in Eritrea, to Cairo, then on to Tunis, in Tunisia, before heading, via Cairo, to Paris. Currently, the Airbus A320 #SU-GCC is missing. There are ten crew and 56 passengers, including 30 Egyptians, 15 French citizens, one Briton, two Iraqis, as well as people from Canada, Belgium, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Sudan, Chad and Portugal.

    If this plane went down in the Mediterranean as Ethiopia409 did departing Beirut, it would be in the Mediterranean in shallow waters.

    This Airbus A320 MSN088 registration #SU-GCC was delivered to EgyptAir on 3/11/2003.

    Egyptian and Greek search and rescue teams are being deployed to look for the missing plane. Although the news said that no distress call was reported, EgyptAir tweeted (in Arabic) that a distress signal was sent from the plane’s emergency devices. Egypt Civil Aviation Ministry says contact was lost with Egyptair Flight #MS804 10 miles inside Egyptian airspace.

    The first officer had 2,675 hours, and the captain had 6,275 hours in all, and 2,101 hours on type.

    At 02:33 local time, the flight was enroute at FL370 over the Mediterranan Sea, 130nm north of Alexandria,Egypt and about 210nm NNW of Cairo when the transponder signals stopped.

    GoJet Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Boston

    GoJet Airlines flight DL-6266 had to return and make an emergency landing in Boston, Massachusetts, on February 10th.

    The Canadair CRJ-900 plane took off for Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, but had to return shortly afterwards due to smell of smoke in the cockpit.

    The plane landed back safely. All 76 passengers and 4 crew members remained unharmed.

    After competition from Air India and fuel cost of 2011 and Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Kingfisher Airlines have lost sixty-five percent of their value since the end of 2010.

    Kingfisher Airlines owes employees income tax from 2010.

    Spice Jet is planning in increasing fees and reviewing contracts to cut costs.

    In December, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation DGCA raised concerns about Indian safety practices.

    Air Show Emergency Landing


    On Sunday, pilot, John Klatt was performing at the QC Airshow at the Davenport Municipal Airport in Davenport, Iowa on the Air Guard demonstration team when he had to make an emergency landing.

    A piece broken off of the plane punctured his engine, spraying oil over his windshield. He jettisoned the canopy. Klatt told spectators that he had cut himself worse while shaving.

    SpiceJet Plane Overruns Runway at Mumbai Airport

    SpiceJet flight SG-703 overran the end of the runway at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, in Mumbai, India, on September 19th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-800 plane, flying from Varanasi, India, was attempting to land during heavy rain.

    The plane came to stop on soft ground. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
