What: Single Engine Beechcraft Sundowner 180 Taking off from Duncan airport Where: STEPHENS COUNTY two miles west of Duncan in a field four miles west of U.S. Highway 81 on Plato. When: emergency landing Sunday afternoon 3:30 p.m Who: pilot, Donald Holloway, from Edmond and his mother, Patricia Dixon Why: engine problems caused the emergency landing. The pilot clipped a barbed-wire fence and then rolled for approximately 30 feet as he landed, and the landing gear collapsed. No one was hurt but the nose and the propellor were smashed and the left wing sustained damage.

What: Raytheon A36 registered to ST Inc. in Peoria, Ariz. Where: Crashed a mile and a half northwest of the Santa Teresa airport runway where it took off When: Saturday 6 p.m. Who: Michael Perry and Jim Crosby were killed. Why: Witnesses saw the plane fly into the storm. The plane crashed during a storm and burned.

What: Beechcraft 35 Bonanza Where: Glencoe, MN When: March 21, 2012, 11:00 a.m. Who: 3 fatalities Why: The plane crashed on farmland four mines north of Glencoe killing what appears to be a family of three aboard the plane and also three dogs. Conditions were five miles visibility and overcast at 900 feet and the pilot may have been flying by visual flight rules in conditions when VFR flight isn’t allowed. Visibility in the area is known to drop “at the drop of a hat” so the pilot may have flown into worsening conditions inadvertently.
Witnesses say they heard the plane sputtering, and heard a popping noise before impact. Others saw the plane flying low before it hit the ground in foggy drizzly weather leaving a two-hundred yard debris field. The plane may have been flying from St. Cloud.
By the time bystanders arrived on the scene, the plane was missing the tail and a wing, and was engulfed in a “ball of flame.”
The plane had just been sold by a St. Cloud resident to a new owner.
Stuart Dahlberg, 52, his wife Ivelisse Morillo, and his mother, Mae Dahlberg were en route to visit family in Colorado when they were killed in the crash. Stuart Dahlberg was an experienced pilot.

What: 1968 Beechcraft Musketeer en route from Calexico to Torrance, Where: Upper Newport Harbor, NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. When: Nov 20, 2010 Who: Fatalities: 58-year-old Charles Alfred Chambers, 63-year-old Russell Urban of Palos Verdes Estate, 44-year-old Sean Kelly of Hermosa Beach. Why: Sunday Pilot Chambers was flying from Calexico on the U.S. Mexican border to Torrance, but diverted to John Wayne Airport when experiencing a fuel shortage. The plane crashed into the water off Newport Beach. The plane was recovered Monday.

What: Beechcraft Bonanza 36 en route to Fayetteville Where: rural backyard outside Winslow When: Feb 6 2010 Who: 46-year-old pilot Edward Cooper; 16-year-old Mary Cooper; 14-year-old Elizabeth Cooper; and 57-year-old Martin Draper, all of Hot Springs. Why: The destination of the flight was the Razorbacks’ basketball game.

What: Beech A36 en route from Kerrville Municipal Airport to Pearland Regional Airport, Houston Where: Bulverde, Texas When: Nov 8 2009 Who: Pilot Carlos McKinney Jr., 60, Dylan Lord, 13, and his 12-year-old brother, Brandon Why: The plane encountered thunderstorms en route, lost contact at 9,000 feet and disappeared from radar. Three fatalities were confirmed; and the pilot was reportedly the children’s grandfather.
