    Pilatus Crash in Mexico


    On Feb 21, 2013, a Fuerza Aérea Mexicana Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 Turbo Porter with two aboard en route from San­ta Lu­cía AFB was over San­ta Lu­cía AFB, Es­ta­do de Mé­xi­co on a training exercise when it crashed.

    Two people were reported injured, who were taken to nearby hospitals.

    The two aboard were later reported as fatalities.

    Brazil Cessna Crash

    What: Cessna 310R en route from Leopoldina to Pampulha
    Where: Serra do Curral, Minas Gerais Brazil
    When: Feb 26 2010
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: After takeoff, the plane crashed in conditions of fog and low visibility. The mountainous crash site was 5 meters below the top of Serra do Curral mountain range. The plane apparently blew up on impacting a “wall” of mountain.

    A local fire department helicopter spotted the wreckage.

    The victims were identified as Tanus Sales and Rafael Tanus Pascoal Sales. Rafael was the pilot.

    Ten Killed in Colombia Military Helicopter Crash

    A Colombian army helicopter crashed in Antioquia, Colombia, on January 16th.

    The Russian-made MI-17 helicopter was carrying ten people when it went down near the town of Segovia.

    All ten people aboard, including two civilians and eight army personnel, were killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Cargo Plane Crash in South Sudan; 41 Killed

    A cargo plane crashed into a hill at the banks of White Nile River in Juba, South Sudan, on November 4.

    The Allied Services Limited Antonov AN-12B, was carrying 12 passengers and 5 crew members from Juba, to Paloich, at the time.

    Among the 12 passengers and 5 crew members aboard, only 2 people survived. According to the police, the crash took lives of 41 people, including the local residents.

    Preliminary investigations reveal the accident occurred due to over-load.

    Piper Cherokee Crash in Maui

    June 16, 2013
    A Piper Cherokee N9160Q, on a flight from Honolulu to Maui declared mayday with engine problems three miles from the airport at 5:40 p.m. and made an emergency landing on Maui, Hawaii a quarter-mile down the beach from Pakele Place.

    Witnesses said the plane “was 50 to 75 feet in the air, rocking the wings and his engine was off.” None of the four men aboard were injured. The passengers were in Maui after playing in a U.S. Tennis Association tournament on Oahu. The plane sustained some damage. A local described firemen, police, rescue crew and tennis players traipsing through their house from the crash scene near the beach.

    Medical Transport Plane Crashed in New Mexico; 4 Killed

    Medical transport planeA twin-engine medical transport plane crashed and caught fire near the Southern New Mexico State Fairgrounds at about 6:45 p.m. on August 27.

    The accident happened shortly after the plane took off from Las Cruces Airport and was on its way to Phoenix, Arizona, with a patient and 3 crew members on-board.

    The crash killed all 4 people aboard. They were identified as the pilot, Freddy Martinez, 29, of El Paso, the patient, Fredrick Green, 59, of Las Cruces, a flight paramedic, Tauren Summers, 27, from El Paso and a nurse, Monica Chavez, 35, of El Paso.

    Some witnesses reported that the plane was flying at a low altitude before it went down.

    The aircraft was owned by Harlingen, Texas based Amigos Aviation Service.

    The FAA is investigating the cause of accident.
