Why: After a normal flight, on landing in Turkey, the plane’s right main gear collapsed when a right tire burst.
One cause for a burst tire is a hard or fast landing, or the state of the runway. The cause has not yet been determined.
In the accident photos (according to AV gossip), the logo has been painted out with white paint.
United Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at PDX
United Airlines flight UA-1551 made an emergency landing in Portland, Oregon, on February 25th.
The Boeing 737-900 plane took off from Newark, New Jersey, but blew a tire during departure.
The crew decided to continue the flight and requested assistance at Portland Airport.
The plane landed safely and was towed to the gate. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
Porter Airlines Plane Diverts to Canada due to Inappropriate Weather
Porter Airlines flight PD-139 had to divert and make an emergency landing Toronto Pearson International Airport, Canada, on July 1st.
The de Havilland Dash 8-400, flying from Ontario, Canada, to New Jersey, had to divert due to inappropriate weather conditions.
The plane landed safely.
All the passengers aboard remained unhurt.

What: American Airlines Boeing 767-200 en route from Los Angeles to New York
Where: Los Angeles
When: Mar 25th 2012
Why: After takeoff from LA, the plane developed pressurization problems.
Pilots returned to LA and made a safe landing on hot brakes with emergency services on standby.
A replacement jet was provided.

What: PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from Toronto, to Karachi Pakistan
Where: Stockholm
When: Sep 25th 2010
Who: 273 passengers
Why: After Canadian police received a phone call that there was a bomb aboard, the flight diverted to Stockholm where it made a safe landing. The passengers disembarked and one man was temporarily detained. When the plane, passenger and luggage were searched and no explosives were found, the investigation turned toward the Canadian crank caller.
The flight was eventually allowed to continue.
LOT Polish Airlines Flight Returns to Warsaw due to Engine Vibrations
LOT Polish Airlines flight LO-91 had to return and make an emergency landing in Warsaw, Poland, on September 11th.
The Boeing 787-800 plane took off for Beijing, China, but had to turn back after the crew received indication of engine vibrations.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
