    United Airlines flight UA-5622 made an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, on January 1st.

    The plane flying from Aspen, Colorado, was descending toward Chicago when the crew requested assistance due to a gear problem.

    The plane performed a low approach for gear inspection and subsequently landed safely.

    The Boeing 737-400, en-route from Ufa to Noyabrsk, Russia, was mid-air when the crew detected power supply problem, prompting the plane to divert to Tyumen.

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 154 passengers and 6 crew members remained safe.

    The incident is under investigation.

    BA Flight Returns to London Heathrow Airport

    British airwaysBritish Airways flight BA49 had to return and make an emergency landing at London Heathrow airport, England, on March 6.

    The plane was en-route to Seattle when the pilot reported a fault in cabin’s oxygen supply system. According to an airline spokesperson, “The aircraft is returning to Heathrow Airport as a precaution due to a suspected technical problem. Our pilots are highly trained to deal with these scenarios.”

    The plane dumped fuel over the Irish Sea before it landed uneventfully. None of the 218 passengers and 14 crew members was harmed.

    A replacement aircraft was arranged for the passengers.

    Taftan Airlines Flight Returns to Tehran After Engine Failure

    Taftan Airlines flight HH-6245 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tehran, Iran, on December 18th.

    The plane took off for Ahvaz, Iran, but had to turn back due to an engine failure.

    The plane landed safely. All one hundred and fifty-nine passengers and ten crew members remained unharmed.
