Ryanair flight FR-3775 had to return and make an emergency landing at Malta International Airport, Malta, on October 12th.
The Boeing 737-800 plane took off for Bristol, England, but had to turn back after the crew noticed problems with the landing gear.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Westjet Airlines Boeing 737-700 en route from Calgary to Halifax
Where: Winnipeg
When: Jul 6th 2010
Who: 131 on board
Why: While en route, a passenger attempted to open a door to the plane. The flight diverted to Winnipeg where the passenger was detained and taken into custody to be charged with “endangering safety of an aircraft and interference with flight crew.” After a nearly three hour delay, the flight continued to Halifax.
Bhutan Airlines flight B3-771 performed a missed approach before landing in Kathmandu, Nepal, on October 15th.
The plane flying from Paro, Bhutan, was on final approach when the crew spotted a goat on the runway.
The crew initiated a standard missed approach and entered a hold while the airport crew removed the goat from the runway.
The plane landed safely. There were 68 passengers and 8 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained safe.
United Airlines flight UA-1192 had to return and make an emergency landing in Denver, Colorado, on October 9th.
The Boeing 737-900 plane took off for Houston, Texas, but had to turn back due to an engine failure.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
IndiGo flight 6E-496 made an emergency landing at Devi Ahilyabai airport in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, on March 11.
The crew declared emergency after a warning system indicated smoke in the cargo area. The flight was en-route from Mumbai to Indore at the time.
The plane landed uneventfully, around 4 minutes before its scheduled landing time. All 181 passengers remained unharmed.
Investigation into the incident is underway.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH-134 had to return and make an emergency landing in Brisbane, Australia, on July 18th.
The Airbus A330-300 plane took off for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, but had to turn back due to a technical issue.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: United Airlines Boeing 767 en route from London to Chicago
Where: Chicago
When: August 4, 2010
Who: 178 passengers and 12 crew, 7 injuries
Why: On landing in Chicago, the left main gear caught on fire. As the plane waited on the runway, the fire was put out by fire crews who sprayed the gear and surrounding areas with fire retardant.
Emergency slides were deployed, and half the passengers evacuated via them, which is where the injuries occurred. After the fire was out, the slides were no longer used. About five were hospitalized after suffering minor injuries during the evacuation. Some individuals were treated at the airport and released.
