    Medical Emergency Prompts Thomson Holidays Flight to Divert to France

    ThomsonA Manchester-bound Thomson Holidays flight had to make an emergency landing at Nantes Atlantique Airport, France, at round noon on September 6.

    The decision for diversion and emergency landing was made after a passenger in his mid 50s suddenly fell sick midair, shortly after the flight TOM2621 took off from Alicante, Spain.

    The paramedics were ready at the scene when the plane safely landed. The passenger was treated for about half an hour and the flight resumed after his condition stabilized.

    The flight, which was due to land at Manchester Airport at 1:05 p.m. eventually landed at 3:30 p.m.

    Why: Four hours into the 7/12 hour flight, a fuel leak occurred. Engine 4, the source, was shut down as a consequence. 90 minutes after the leak was detected, the plane made a safe emergency landing in Perth. Last year an exploding oxygen tank blew a hole in this very plane; but there is no connection.

    4 People Injured after Allegiant Flight Hits Heavy Turbulence

    AllegiantAllegiant Flight 916 had to land in emergency at St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport in Florida after 4 people got injured midair due to heavy turbulence, on the afternoon of August 4.

    The MD-83 aircraft, carrying 147 passengers and 6 crew members aboard, was en route from Ft. Lauderdale to Asheville, North Carolina when it hit heavy turbulence and made a sudden dive of several thousand feet.

    According to the Airline sources, the flight faced extraordinary turbulence for about 30 to 40 minutes. Four people aboard, including a flight attendant and three passengers suffered minor injuries in this situation.

    The airline also confirmed that the seat belt signs were turned on during the time.

    Small Plane Crashed in Clermont; Two Killed

    A small plane crashed in a field in Clermont, Florida, on March 12th.

    Authorities said the RV-8A plane went down between South Lake Hospital and Skyridge Valley subdivision.

    The plane was carrying two people at the time; both of them were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    JetBlue Airways Plane Returns to New York due to Smoke in Cockpit

    JetBlue Airways flight B6-833 had to return and make an emergency landing at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, Buffalo, New York, on November 30.

    The Airbus A320-200, flying from Boston, Massachusetts, to San Francisco, California, was mid-air above Buffalo when the crew detected smoke in the cockpit and sensed vibrations, causing the plane to divert.

    The plane landed safely.

    All passengers remained unhurt and were accommodated in another flight.
