What: Tara Air de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter en route from Jumla to Nepalgunj
Where: Surkhet Airport
When: June 13, 2012
Who: 19 passengers
Why: Co-ilot Abhisek Rai was injured while flying the Tara Air jet from Jumla to Nepalgunj when a bird struck the plane’s front mirror.
Captain Prabhakar Ghimire decided to divert the flight, and made a safe landing at Surkhet Airport.

What: Cathay Pacific Airbus A330-300 en route from from Surabaya Indonesia to Hong Kong
Where: Hong Kong
When: April 13 2010
Who: 309 passengers and 14 crew
Why: On approach to Hong Kong, the flight developed engine failure in one engine which was shut down, and the other engine failed on landing. On the runway, brakes overheated, caught fire, and the tires went flat.
Passengers evacuated the plane via emergency chutes; seven were injured though only five hospitalized. (Other reports indicate 8 admitted to hospital.)

What: Thai Airways Boeing 747-400 en route from Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Where: Bangkok
When: Feb 3 2010
Who: 330 passengers on board
Why: After takeoff, the left engine surged. Consequentially, the crew shut down the engine, and returned to Suvarnabhumi Airport to make a safe landing. There were no injuries. The plane had reportedly undergone a maintenance check prior to takeoff.
A replacement jet was flown in, which took off at 6.08 pm.

What: American Airlines Boeing 777-200 en route from Dallas to Tokyo

Who: 211 aboard
Why: While en route, the plane received an indicator of a cargo fire. The pilot diverted to Shemya Island where they made a safe landing on Eareckson Air Station in the Alaskan Aleutian Islands.

Why: On March 2, 2008, about 1320, the Robinson R-44 II, impacted trees and terrain near Nizhnevartovsk, Russia. The pilot and the passenger were fatally injured. The flight was conducted under Russian flight regulations.
According to preliminary information provided by the Russian government, the wreckage of the accident helicopter was not located until July 2008. Initial examination of the wreckage revealed that the helicopter impacted a swampy forest area in a nose down, right roll attitude
Etihad Airways flight EY-38 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Munich Airport, Munich, Germany, on April 16th.
The Airbus A340-600, heading from Paris, France, to Abu Dhabi, UAE, was diverted after it lost cabin pressure mid-air.
The plane landed uneventfully. All people onboard remained safe.
What: US Airways/ PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 en route from Gainesville,FL to Charlotte,NC
Where: Gainesville
When: Jan 24th 2011
Why: While en route, the flight developed engine trouble.
The flight returned to Gainesville and made a safe landing within half an hour.
