    ASL Airlines Belgium Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Liege

    ASL Airlines Belgium freight flight 3V-801 made an emergency landing in Liege, Belgium, on August 17th.

    The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Shanghai, China, but had to turn back after the crew reported fire in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Nepal Airlines Boeing Makes Emergency Landing in Kuala Lumpur

    A Nepal Airlines flight RA-416 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu had to return and make an emergency landing due to a technical issue.

    The Boeing 757 carrying around 54 people was on its way to Kathmandu when the pilots noticed vibration in the fan blade of its right engine. The Airline spokesperson, Ramhari Sharma, confirmed that the plane landed back in Kuala Lumpur about 45 minutes after it took off.

    None of the passengers and crew members were hurt.

    A Nepal Airlines official said “A technical team is arriving in Kuala Lumpur to fix the problem. We hope the aircraft would be released by Saturday evening and will probably start regular flights from Sunday.”

    What: Continental Airlines Boeing 767-400 en route from Newark to Athens
    Where: Boston
    When: June 11, 2010
    Who: 233: 220 passengers and 13 crew
    Why: After the pilot had reported smoke in the cockpit, the flight was diverted to Logan International Airport for safety reasons. A replacement jet was provided; and no cause has been released as to the source of the smoke.

    2 Killed after Helicopter Crashed in Salt Lake City

    A small helicopter crashed into a vacant industrial building north of Salt Lake City, Utah, at around 2 p.m. on December 2.

    The helicopter struck the roof of a two-story building and bursted into flames, with 2 occupants trapped inside.

    Police Chief Craig Black confirmed that both people aboard the helicopter were pronounced dead at the spot. No one on the ground was injured.

    The FAA is looking into the cause of crash.

    Small Plane Crashed in the Bahamas; Two Killed

    A small plane crashed at South Bimini Airport in the Bahamas, on June 19th.

    The Piper Aztec 27 plane, carrying two people, went down minutes after it took off from the airport.

    Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash. Their identities have not yet been released.

    The accident is being investigated.
