    UTAir Crashes on 4th, killing 4 in Lensk

    What: UTAir Aviation Aérospatiale AS 350 B3 Ecureuil en route from Lensk to Talakan
    Where: Lensk, Russia
    When: July 4, 2012 18:11
    Who: 4 aboard, 4 fatalities
    Why: Four people were aboard the UTAir helicopter when it crashed near Lensk Russia, killing the pilot and copilot and two passengers just moments after the pilots lost contact with ATC.

    Initial reports said there were only three aboard. The helicopter normally performed a regular shuttle flight.

    Vintage Plane Crashes during Fort Myers Airshow

    What: Low and Slow Aviation Ventures Curtiss Wright Travel Air 4000 built in 1927
    Where: Page Field General Aviation Airport
    When: 10:18 a.m.
    Who: pilot and 2 passengers
    Why: During an event during which rides were sold, the vintage bi-plane crashed. A witness noted the pilot was in trouble before the crash.

    Two victims, a small boy and an older gentleman, left the wreckage on their own before being taken to the hospital. The pilot was removed by EMS.

    Australian Beechcraft Crashes; No injuries

    What: Geraldton Air Charters Beechcraft Bonanza
    Where: Geraldton Australia
    When: Dec 21, 2010 7:05 am
    Who: Pilot
    Why: On takeoff, the pilot crashed into a shed just beyond the end of the runway. The pilot survived. The plane appears to have developed problems on takeoff, did not get far off the ground, and its wing struck a shed across the road. Although the plane is a write-off, the pilot walked away.

    American Airlines Emergency Diversion to Birmingham

    An American Airlines developed cabin pressure problems while en route from Jacksonville to Fort Worth, and made an emergency landing in Birmingham on Sunday, April 6, 2014.

    The McDonnell Douglas MD-82 had 130 passengers and five crew, none of whom were injured. Passengers were provided an alternative plane to Dallas.

    Small Plane Crashes in Connecticut; Two Killed

    A small plane crashed near the North Branford-Guilford border in Connecticut, on September 16th.

    The incident happened when the Mooney M20-C plane was carrying two people, including NASCAR modified championship racer Ted Christopher, 59, and the pilot Charles Dundas, 81.

    Both occupants of the plane were killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Cessna Airplane Crashed in Saskatchewan, Canada; 2 Killed

    CessnaA small Cessna airplane crashed in a field near Torquay in Saskatchewan, Canada, at about 10:15 a.m. on June 15.

    The plane was carrying two people at the time of the accident; both of them were killed. Their names have not yet been disclosed.

    Estevan RMCP and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.

    Transport Canada’s safety board is working to find the cause of accident.
