The flight landed safely, with one engine shut down. The flight landed safely with emergency teams on standby.

What: Rockford Memorial Hospital MBB BK 117 A-3 en route from Rockford to Mendota Where: Rochelle, Illinois When: Dec 10, 2012 8:30 p.m. Who: 3 aboard, 3 fatalities Why: A Rockford Memorial Hospital’s REACT helicopter crashed in a field at about 8:30 p.m. in Rochelle midway between Rockford and Mendota. Pilot Andy Olson, flight nurse Jim Dillow, R.N. and flight nurse Karen Hollis, R.N. died on the scene.
The medical helicopter was en route to Mendota to pick up a patient. No patients were aboard at the time of the accident.

British Airways flight BA-491 rejected take off from Gibraltar International Airport in Gibraltar, on June 7th.
The plane was accelerating to take off for Heathrow Airport, London, United Kingdom, when one of the engines ingested a sea gull, prompting to pilots to reject take off.
The plane safely returned to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unhurt.
The flight was cancelled.

Air Canada flight AC-788 had to abort taking off at Los Angeles International Airport, Los Angeles, California, on December 20.
The Airbus A321-200 was about to take off from Los Angeles airport, to Toronto, Canada, when the crew decided to abort the take off due to a push back that had occurred earlier.
The plane landed uneventfully.
No one was injured.

What: Marion Flying Club Cirrus SR-20 en route from Marion Municipal Airport Where: CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill When: Nov 26, 2011 10:30am Who: 4 fatalities Why: The one-engine Cirrus SR-20 was flying in rainy, overcast conditions when it crashed in a soybean field on a farm unincorporated McHenry County, killing the four aboard the plane. Marion businessman Ray Harris and his daughters Ramie and Shey were killed in the crash, along with one of the girl’s boyfriends. On impact, the plane shattered into debris which was spread over 100 yards. The plane carries a parachute, which had been deployed but it was tangled in a tree, which may have contributed to the wreck.
The pilot, Harris, had been flying one of his daughters back to Wheaton College.

What: Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, en route from San Francisco to Chicago Where: Oakland When: Jan 22nd 2011 2:51 pm Who: 86 passengers Why: While en route, the pilot of the Southwest Airlines Boeing received a warning message indicating a fire in wheel well. The pilot diverted to Oakland and made a safe landing where passengers disembarked and waited to transfer to another plane.
