    What: Air Busan Boeing 737-400 en route from Fukuoka (Japan) to Busan (South Korea)
    Where: Fukuoka Japan
    When: Dec 26th 2010
    Who: 153 aboard
    Why: When cleared for takeoff, the Air Busan flight was taxiing when it went performed a runway incursion as a Jal Express Boeing was on final approach. The incursion casued a collision hazard/ loss of separation with an aircraft taking off, intending to take off, landing or intending to land. The Jal had to perform a go-around, but landed safely less than half an hour later. Then the Air Busan flight took off normally.

    Smoke Sends US Airways Passengers on a Bus

    What: US Airways Boeing 737-400 en route from Dallas to Charlotte.
    Where: Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport
    When: April 18, 2011, 1 pm
    Who: 94 passengers, 5 crew (also reported as 107 aboard)
    Why: After pilots smelled smoke in the cockpit, they diverted the flight to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport where they made a safe landing with local emergency responders as well as fire crews from Pelham-Batesville and Boiling Springs, and Greenville and Spartanburg EMS were on standby when the plane landed.

    After the plane was grounded, passengers were taken by bus to Charlotte.

    Air Europa Lineas Aereas Boeing Engine Problem over Barcelona

    What: Air Europa Lineas Aereas Boeing 737-800 en route from Barcelona to Madrid
    Where: El Prat airport, Barcelona
    When: Sep 13th 2009 12.35
    Why: After takeoff, the indicator light for engine failure lit, a noise was heard and the plane experienced what is described by passengers as a “tremor.” After the safe landing at El Prat, the airport of origin, passengers continued on another plane to Madrid.

    Southwest Airlines Plane Diverts to New Mexico due to Strange Odour

    Southwest Airlines flight WN-3562 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Albuquerque International Sunport, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, on March 11th.

    The Boeing 737-800 flying from Phoenix, Arizona, to Dallas Love, Texas, had to divert due to a strange odour, unusual heat, and electrical smoke in the cabin.

    The plane landed safely.

    All 140 people aboard remained safe.

    Delta Flight Diverts to Anchorage Due to Medical Emergency

    DeltaDelta airlines flight 284 had to make an unscheduled landing at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska, on the morning of March 4.

    According to the airline, the Boeing 777-200LR was diverted “in response to a customer medical situation on board”. The flight was heading from Narita International Airport, Japan, to Los Angeles at the time.

    Delta confirmed in a statement, “The flight landed without incident and paramedics met the aircraft on arrival.”

    The plane later took off again and landed in Los Angeles with a 2-hour delay.

    American Airlines Backs Miami Dolphins Charter Into a Parked MD80

    What: American Airlines Boeing B767 en route from Dallas to Miami.
    Where: Dallas TX
    When: August 30, 2012
    Who: no injuries
    Why: According to the FAA report, during Push-back for departure, the plane hit a parked MD80.

    Oops.

    No injuries were reported. THe plane involved happened to be the Miami Dolphins charter plane scheduled to return the Dophins to Miami. The team was provided a replacement jet and they returned to Miami at 7:30 a.m. the next morning.
