    PIA Plane Veers Off Runway at Islamabad Airport

    piaPakistan International Airlines flight PK-451 had to return and make an emergency landing in Islamabad, Pakistan, on August 8th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane took off for Skardu, Pakistan, but had to return shortly afterwards due to a hydraulic failure.

    The plane veered off runway upon landing.

    Everyone aboard remained uninjured.

    FedEx Jet Makes Emergency Landing at McCarran International Airport

    FedExA FedEx jet made an emergency landing at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, on November 7.

    The MD-11 aircraft was on its way from Ontario, California, to Memphis, Tennessee, when the crew reported fire in the cargo hold.

    The plane, carrying 3 people, was then landed in emergency in Las Vegas at 7:13 a.m.

    The crew members remained in the aircraft and deployed the fire suppression system.

    Clark County Fire Department crews inspected the plane and gave the all-clear at 7:55 a.m.

    Delta Airlines Flight Makes Emergency Landing at JFK Airport

    Delta Airlines flight DL-6024 made an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, on January 4th.

    The plane heading from Raleigh–Durham International Airport, North Carolina, to Boston, Massachusetts, was diverted due to a fire indication.

    The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

    United Airlines Plane Returns to Denver International Airport

    United airlinesUnited Airlines flight 4870 had to return and make an emergency landing at Denver International Airport in Denver, Colorado, on March 14.

    Authorities said the flight had to return after one of its tires blew during takeoff. The flight was en-route to Kansas City, Missouri, at the time.

    The plane landed back safely after burning extra fuel. None of the 71 passengers was harmed.

    The airline accommodated passengers in another flight.

    Plane Lands due to Electrical Issue

    What: United Airlines/Skywest Canadair CRJ-700
    Where: Tucson
    When: Jan 1, 2011
    Why: On takeoff, the cabin filled with electrical smoke. The odor prompted the crew to make a return to Tucson.

    They made a safe landing with no reported injuries. The cause of the problem has not been reported.

    Why: While en route, the crew observed a gear disagree message. (Says it is up or down when it is not.) The flight diverted to Dayton Ohio, where passengers debarked and boarded a bus for their destination.
