What: JAL Japan Airlines Boeing 777-300 en route from Okinawa to Osaka
Where: Okinawa

Who: 332 passengers
Why: After takeoff, the left engine developed issues, reportedly leaving a smoke trail. Within twenty minutes the crew had landed the plane back in Okinawa. No injuries were reported, although there may have been an engine fire witnessed from the ground.

Who: 4 on board, 1 fatality
Why: After a hard landing, the plane struck a tree.
The pilot was Doyle R. Chadwick.
The passengers, all of whom survived, were Phillip Byrge, 49, and his 12-year-old son Nathan and 8-year-old daughter Mary.
President of the Oliver Springs Airport board of directors,Steve Hamel, was quoted as saying that he believes “Wind and a wet runway likely played a role in the crash….It’s a grass runway, and it looks like the skid marks of extended distance here, that the brakes may have been locked up on the airplane”

What: Delta Airbus A319 en route from New York to Palm Beach Florida
Where: Palm Beach International Airport
When: March 11, 2010 11 a.m
Who: 2 flight attendants (3?)
Why: Encountering heavy turbulence on landing at Palm Beach International Airport, the crew requested Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue for two injured flight attendants. No passengers were hurt, but the flight attendants were taken to Columbia Hospital.
Onur Air flight 8Q-371 had to make an emergency landing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, on January 19.
The Airbus A320-200 was flying from Istanbul, Turkey, when the crew requested an emergency landing due to a landing gear problem.
The plane landed uneventfully. No injuries were reported.
Zagros Air flight IZG-4065 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Ahwaz, Iran, on July 12th.
The plane, en-route from Tehran to Bandar Mahshahr, Iran, was diverted after the crew reported a fire indication for one of the engines.
The plane landed uneventfully. Everyone aboard remained safe.
A Batik Air plane collided with a TransNusa plane on the runway at Soekarno–Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, Indonesia, on April 4th.
The incident happened when the Batik Air plane was taking off, while the TransNusa plane was being towed across the runway.
The aircrafts sustained minor scratches.
No one was injured.
Skymark Airlines flight 732 had to return and make an emergency landing at New Chitose Airport, Hakkaido, Japan, on August 22nd.
The aircraft en-route to Haneda, Japan, was mid-air when a passenger’s portable battery charger exploded and started emitting smoke.
The plane landed uneventfully.
All 170 passengers onboard remained unharmed.
