    American Airlines Flight Diverts to Yakima

    What: American Airlines Boeing 737-800 en route from Seattle to Chicago
    Where: Yakima
    When: Oct 04 2010
    Who: 149 passengers and 6 crew, 1 ill passenger
    Why: When a passenger on the flight became ill, the flight diverted to Yakima, where the passenger was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital after a safe landing. The landing was uneventful except for brakes overheating.

    After a 7.5 hour delay, passengers were back en route.

    Delta Airlines Plane Diverts to Florida after Engine Problem

    250px-Delta_logo.svgDelta Airlines flight DL-1270 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Panama City, Florida, on June 14th.

    The McDonnel Douglas MD-88, flying from Atlanta, Georgia, to Pensacola, Florida, had to divert due to some problems with one of its engines.

    The plane landed safely.

    No one was injured.

    ABX Air Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Providence

    ABX Air flight GB-3907 made an emergency landing in Providence, Rhode Island, on December 28th.

    The Boeing 767-200 freighter plane flying from Chicago Rockford International Airport, Illinois, was descending toward Providence when the crew reported an engine issue.

    The plane continued for a safe landing. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    Cargo Plane Crash-Lands in Northwest Kansas

    Key Lime AirA twin engine plane, registered to Key Lime Air, crash landed near Roads 10 and 71 in Sherman County, Kansas, on the morning of January 21.

    The plane, carrying UPS cargo, experienced engine troubles and was trying to make it to the Goodland Municipal Airport when it crash landed.

    Key Lime Air confirmed the incident saying, “Key Lime Air received confirmation that one of our twin engine cargo aircraft experienced an unexpected engine anomaly in flight. The flight was operated with a single pilot and no passengers. The aircraft landed safely at an off-airport location close to Goodland, KS, without incident. There are no injuries to the pilot. Key Lime Air will be conducting a thorough examination of the aircraft in order to determine the cause of the anomaly.”

    Turbulence over Atlanta

    On January 10, a Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Jacksonville to Atlanta encountered turbulence on approach to Atlanta.

    A flight attendant was injured.

    No other injuries were reported.

    The incident is under investigation.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashes near Castro Valley

    A single-engine Cessna 210 crashed near Castro Valley in California, on May 21.

    The plane was en-route from Buchanan Field Airport, Concord to Reid-Hillview Airport, San Jose when it went down. Authorities said the plane was reported overdue after which, Civil Air Patrol pilots located its wreckage next morning.

    The pilot, who was the only one aboard, was killed in the accident. He was identified as Andrew Morse, 66, of Lafayette.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.
