An Iraqi Airways plane made an emergency landing at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, Turkey, on June 22nd.
The plane took off for Erbil, Iraq, but had to return shortly afterwards after the crew reported engine failure.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unhurt.

What: Delta Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Detroit to Denver
Where: Lake Michigan
When: Feb 28 2010
Why: While en route, the left engine developed problems and was shut down. The flight returned to Denver and made a safe landing on the remaining engine.
Allegiant Airlines flight 871 had to make an emergency landing at St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport in Florida, on June 1st.
The plane was flying from Moline, Illinois, when the crew reported a mechanical problem and declared an emergency.
The plane landed safely. All 140 people aboard remained unharmed.
The airline said, “Our mechanics are doing a full investigation and inspection to diagnose and repair the issue.”
Turkish Airlines flight TK-1769 had to divert and make an emergency landing at Sofia Airport in Bulgaria, on June 3.
The Airbus A321-200, heading from Istanbul, Turkey to Prague, Czech Republic, was diverted after smoke was reported in its cockpit.
The plane landed uneventfully. All 117 passengers and 8 crew members remained safe.
The aircraft was inspected upon landing and was cleared to take off again after some time.
The flight landed in Prague with a 2.5 hours delay.
Nordic Regional Airlines (Norra) flight AY-215 had to return and make an emergency landing in Helsinki, Finland, on April 1st.
The plane took off for Mariehamn, Finland, but had to turn back due to cabin pressure issues.
The plane landed back safely. All 34 people aboard remained unharmed.
After the cargo ship they were in was forced to make an emergency landing, three Miamians were found floating in a boat in the Bahamas, fifteen miles from Bimini.
Pilot Ernie Martin had to land the Cessna 337 on the water when both engines lost fuel. He sustained a small cut that did not require hospitalization.
Passengers Daniel Puig and Javier Avino were aboard after a vacation in Great Harbor Key. Puig credits his seat belt for keeping him from going through the windshield.
All three were rescued by the Sea Express II, a Seacor Island Lines’ cargo ship.
Croatia Airlines flight OU-491 made an emergency landing in Zagreb, Croatia, on August 11th.
The Airbus A320-200 plane was flying from Heathrow Airport, England, when the crew needed to shut down one of the engines due to vibrations.
The plane continued for a safe landing. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.
