    Small Plane Crashed in South Africa; Three Killed

    A small plane crashed in Benoni, east of Johannesburg, South Africa, on February 2nd.

    Authorities said the Piper PA-32 plane took off from Brakpan Airfield, and was heading to Limpopo Province when it crashed into shacks in Watville.

    There were three people aboard at the time, including the pilot and two Austrian tourists, all of them were killed in the crash.

    The cause of crash is being investigated.

    Air Ambulance Crashed Near Grand Manan Island Airport, 2 Killed

    PiperA chartered Ambulance New Brunswick plane crashed in a wooded area near the airport on Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada, shortly after 5 a.m. on August 16.

    According to the Ambulance New Brunswick spokesperson, the accident happened when the Atlantic Charters plane was returning to Grand Manan after dropping a patient at Saint John Regional Hospital.

    The Piper PA-31 aircraft had 4 people aboard; 2 of them, including a pilot and a paramedic died in the crash. Two others, including a second pilot and a registered nurse survived with severe injuries.

    The deceased paramedic was later identified as William Mallock of Grand Manan, an employee of Ambulance New Brunswick.

    The identity of the deceased pilot who worked for Atlantic Charters has yet to be disclosed.

    Capt. Liam Mather from the Defense department confirmed that one survivor was taken to Grand Manan Hospital, while “the other one’s injuries were determined to be too extensive for treatment at Grand Manan so the Cormorant helicopter assisted with a Medivac to Saint John Regional Hospital.”

    The interim president of Ambulance New Brunswick, Paul Ward, said in a statement, “We are devastated by this incident.”

    The cause of accident is under investigation.

    What: Piper PA-28-161 Warrior III registration EC-IYU en route from JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA
    Where: two miles northwest of the JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA runway 20
    When: 8. FEB-2009
    Who: pilot
    Why: A pilot’s training flight was interrupted at 1:30 when he had to make an emergency landing two miles from the airport. He was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

    Medical Evacuation Helicopter Crashes in Chicago

    What: Air Angels Inc.emergency medical transport Bell 222 helicopter en route from Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago from Valley West Hospital in Sandwich. The helicopter was based out of Clow airport in Bolingbrook.
    Where: Crashed in a corn field near a residential area in east Aurora near Eola Road and Liberty Street, and was engulfed in flames.
    When: Oct 15 Went down about midnight
    Who: victims included three crew members and the little girl.
    Why: The little girl was being transported to the hospital because of epileptic seizures. Witnesses report that after the helicopter crashed, it exploded. There is speculation that the helicopter struck a 750-foot tall radio transmission tower which is now about 15-feet off center. One witness reported a midair explosion, and then another explosion after the helicopter hit the ground. Two of the tower’s guy wires were impacted during the crash.

    Flight School Cessna and Military Piper Collision In Argentina

    What: (Fuerza Aérea Argentina) Argentine Air Force Piper PA-A28-236 Dakota light aircraft
    Where: Mercedes Airport, Argentina
    When: 21-NOV-2011 09:45 LT
    Who: 2 fatalities
    Why: On approach to Mercedes Airport, an Argentine Air Force Piper PA-A28-236 Dakota collided with an aviation school Cessna 152.

    Both the flight school crew members in the Cessna 150 were killed in the crash. The Piper PA-28 landed safely. The two military personnel aboard the Piper survived.

    According to witness Boloni Eduardo, the Air Force plane cut the back of the Cessna with its propeller, causing it to fall

    Firefighters, police, ambulance, Air Force, and Civil Aviation Accident Investigation Board were on the scene. Mercedes is a public air field with no control tower.
