    What: Aegean Airlines Airbus A320-200 en route from Athens to Milan
    Where: Milan
    When: Nov 10th 2010
    Who: 108 passengers, 6 crew
    Why: On touchdown in Milan, the plane generated a brake fault message. The return flight was cancelled, and the plane was pulled from service briefly for repairs.

    What: Air India’s Airbus 320 Flight IC 206 en route from Dibrugarh via Jorhat to Kolkata
    and an Indian Air Force transport IAF Gajaraj IL 76 en route to Dibrugarh at 19,000 feet flflying at a speed of 600 km per hour.
    Where: over Jorhat in Upper Assam, around 300 km from Guwahati
    When: Tuesday
    Who: 43 passengers in the Airbus. The number aboard the Air Force plane was not disclosed.
    Why: Pilot Joydeb Banerjee saw the air force plane about 300 feet away –Banerjee and co- pilot Neeraj Singha of IC 206 alerted the ATCs at Jorhat and Dibrugarh. The Airbus dived 2,000 feet just in time to save the lives of his 43 passengers. His airbus had taken off from Dibrugarh at 11.55 am.

    An Airports Authority of India ATC officer stationed in the Mohanbari airport in Upper Assam was suspended for “apparent lack of co- ordination with the authorities in Jorhat”.

    Lebanon: Bird Strike

    What: UM Ukrainian Mediterranean Airlines Douglas DC-9-50 en route from Beirut (Lebanon) to Kiev
    Where: Beirut
    When: Sep 21 2010
    Who: 91 passengers
    Why: After takeoff, an engine ingested a bird, resulting in engine problems. There were reports of an engine surge, explosion and fire which are being denied by the airport.

    The crew returned the plane to Beirut where they made a safe landing. Passengers report hearing an explosion and seeing flame. On landing, passengers disembarked. No injuries are reported, nor whether slides were used or a replacement jet provided.

    Ryanair Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Dublin

    RyanairRyanair flight FR-817 made an emergency landing in Dublin, Ireland, on September 28th.

    The Boeing 737-800 plane was flying from Edinburgh, United Kingdom, when the crew requested an early descent to avoid icing. However, during initial descent, the crew declared an emergency due to light vibrations in both engines and increasing oil temperature.

    The plane landed safely. All 145 passengers and 6 crew members remained unharmed.

    Engine Fire at Dulles, Three Evacuation Injuries

    What: United Airlines Boeing 757-200 en route from Washington DC to San Francisco,CA
    Where: CHANTILLY Virginia
    When: Sep 14th 2011
    Who: 179 passengers and 6 crew
    Why: Before taking off, while still at the airport on ramp for departure, the plane developed immediate problems.

    Smoke was reported coming from the right engine. Pilots stopped, the emergency slides were deployed, and passengers, three of whom were injured on the slides, evacuated from the plane.

    Emergency services were on standby. On inspection, no fire was found.
