    Helicopter Crash Lands near Stanthorpe; No Injuries Reported

    A helicopter made a crash landing on Arcot Road, Silver Spur near Stanthorpe in Queensland, Australia, shortly after 10 a.m. on October 28.

    There were 2 people aboard the helicopter at the time of incident. The police confirmed that none of them sustained any injuries.

    It is believed that the helicopter clipped some power lines, after which the pilot decided to make a controlled precautionary landing. The accident sparked a huge grassfire in the area, which spread over 16 hectares of grass.

    The incident is under investigation by the Police and the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB).

    2 Killed after Liberty XL-2 Crashed in Merritt Island

    plane crash in houseA single-engine, Liberty XL-2 plane crashed into the residential neighborhood of east Merritt Island, Florida, at 8:30 p.m. on June 9.

    The accident happened after the plane took off from the Merritt Island Airport, with two people on board.

    The Sheriff’s Office and the Brevard County Fire Rescue spokespersons confirmed that both the passengers of the ill-fated plane died at the spot. They were identified as 47-year-old John Brian Kish and 64-year-old Kenneth Allen Marks.

    No one was injured on the ground. Some homes on Paula Avenue were slightly damaged. The crash also struck the power line, causing a blackout.

    The airplane, built in 2006, was registered to Merritt Island-based Spatial Inc.

    United Airlines Plane Overruns Runway at O’Hare International Airport

    United Airlines flight UA-656 overran the end of the runway after landing at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, on January 19th.

    The incident happened when the Boeing 737-900 plane was coming from Phoenix, Arizona.

    All one hundred and twenty-nine people aboard remained uninjured.

    Helicopter Down at Mammoth


    What: Asplundh BELL 206B HELICOPTER helicopter crash
    Where: Pole lake road southeast of Mammoth Lakes, near Deer Springs Road
    When: Sept 19, 2012, 12:30
    Who: 2 aboard
    Why: Two Asplundh employees were working on power lines and crashed near the lake causing a small fire. They were taken to Mammoth Airport and ambulanced to Mammoth Hospital. They suffered minor injuries.

    According to the FAA preliminary report, the rotorcraft tail rot0r struck the ground and crashed 12 miles from Mammoth lakes California.

    Mono County Sheriff’s Department, Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, Long Valley Fire Department, Cal Fire, U.S. Forest Service, and Mono County Paramedics responded to the scene.

  • Bangladesh Air Force Training Planes Collide Mid-Air

    Two Bangladesh Air Force training planes collided mid-air in Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh, on December 27th.

    Authorities said the Russian Yak 130 planes were being flown by four flight cadets.

    All four pilots were able to eject safely.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Pilot Killed after Small Plane Crashed in Plainfield, IL

    A Piper PA30 plane crashed in Plainfield, Illinois, on July 21st.

    The plane was heading to Wisconsin when it went down, causing a house to catch fire.

    The pilot Garry T. Bernardo, 58, of Lake Worth, Florida, was killed in the crash. He was the only person aboard the plane.
