Expressjet flight EV-3747 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on May 25th.
The plane took off for Houston, Texas, but had to return shortly afterwards after smoke was detected in the cockpit.
The plane landed uneventfully. There were 51 people aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.

Why: The plane lost power and crash landed. The crash is under investigation.
Southwest Airlines flight WN-607 had to divert and make an emergency landing on Roatan Island, Honduras, on May 29th.
The Boeing 737-700 was heading from San Jose, Costa Rica, to Baltimore, Maryland, when smoke was detected in the cabin, prompting the crew to divert to Roatan.
The plane landed safely. There were 140 passengers and 8 crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unhurt.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.
Nordwind Airlines flight N4-2477 made an emergency landing in Delhi, India, on February 4th.
The Boeing 777-200 plane heading from Sheremetyevo International Airport, Russia, to Phuket International Airport, Thailand, was diverted due to an engine issue.
The plane landed safely. All three hundred and eighty passengers and fifteen crew members remained unharmed.
A Thomson Airways flight had to make an emergency landing at the Lajes airport in Portugal, at about 4:13 a.m. Lisbon time on August 5.
The twin-engine aircraft Boeing 787-800 aircraft was on its way from Dominican Republic to Manchester, UK when the crew had to shut down its right hand engine due to an indication of low oil pressure.
The plane was then diverted towards Lajes airport where it made a safe emergency landing. All 288 passengers remained safe.
The passengers were provided a replacement aircraft which took them to their destination.
Austrian Airlines flight LX-780 returned to Zurich, Switzerland, on November 5th.
The plane took off for Brussels, Belgium, but had to turn back due to a hydraulic problem.
The plane landed back safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

When: July 22 2011
Who: 57 passengers
Why: Some time after taking off from Portland, the flight developed hydraulic issues. The pilots diverted to South bend, and made a safe landing.
Passengers were provided transport to Chicago via bus.
