A single- engine Cessna plane crashed at Penn Yan Airport in Yates County, New York on May 3.
The plane was being flown by a student pilot, who was practicing “touch-and-go-landing” at the airport. Right after taking off, the plane suddenly swerved, hit the ground, spun around and collided with the fence.
The pilot was killed at the spot. He was identified as Steven P. Seely, 55, of Stanley, New York.
The NTSB and the FAA are investigating the cause of crash.

TAM Linhas Aereas Plane Returns to Salvador after Bird Strike
TAM Linhas Aereas flight JJ-3517 had to return and make an emergency landing at Deputado Luis Eduardo Magalhaes International Airport, Salvador da Bahia, Brazil on April 1st.The Airbus A321-200, en-route from Salvador to Brasilia, was climbing out of runway when one of the plane’s engines ingested a bird, prompting the plane to return.
The plane landed safely.
All 108 passengers onboard remained unharmed.

Why: On takeoff, the Corvair developed engine trouble. They consulted with ATC and decided to return to the airport but instead ended up in the La Torrecilla Lagoon. Witnesses saw the plane trailing smoke as it approached.The pilot and copilot died on impact. The flight has been confirmed as flight 440 to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport. It was a cargo flight with only two crew aboard.
Divers are working to retrieve the bodies from the underwater wreckage. No names have been released.

Delta Airlines Plane Returns to Narita International Airport due to Engine Problem
Delta Airlines flight DL-276 had to return and make an emergency landing at Narita International Airport, Japan, on June 7th.The Boeing 747-400 plane took off for Detroit, Michigan, but had to turn back after the crew reported an engine problem.
The plane landed back safely. There were three hundred and ten passengers and seventeen crew members aboard at the time; all of them remained unharmed.
Solemont Crash May be Lightning Strike, 4 Swiss Killed

Why: Eye witnesses say that the Pilatus was en route Friday night when it was struck by lightning. Forty minutes after the plane had sent out a distress call, emergency services found the wreck. Debris from the plane is scattered over a wide area.Those on the plane included the pilot, aged 57, a woman passenger aged 20, and two men aged 36 and 51. All the remains have not been found and identified, although family members have been informed.
The accident is under investigation, and no specific cause has been released. Heavy rain was falling at the time of the crash, and there was low visibility. The four aboard the plane were from Switzerland. Late Friday, the Minister of Economy and Finance and managing director of the city of Montbéliard, Pierre Moscovici, expressed his “emotion” and “deep sympathy” towards victims.

Who: Pilot Kent Douglas Shilling of Springfield (lost in crash)
Why: The Piper 28 airplane disappeared from radar about 4 miles west Lebanon Springfield Airport. Kent Douglas Shilling was piloting the plane. Shilling, who owns a flight school, was returning to Kentucky from Alabama. When his arrival in Lebanon-Springfield was overdue, a search ensued. The Emergency Operations Center received a call concerning the crash at 4:10 p.m.A state trooper found the wreckage in a wooded area off of Kentucky Highway 55 thirty minutes after the flight disappeared from radar.
