Eva Air flight BR-271 made a safe landing at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila, Philippines, on July 18th.
The Boeing 747-400 flying from Taipei, Taiwan had vacated the runway at a high speed, puncturing its right side flaps.
The plane landed safely.
No one was injured.
TAP Portugal Airlines flight TP-82 made an emergency landing in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on October 21st.
The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Lisbon, Portugal, but had to turn back after a bird impacted its left engine.
The plane landed safely after burning off excess fuel. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.
The airline arranged a replacement plane for the passengers.

What: Ryanair Boeing 737-800 en route from Alghero to Parma
Where: Alghero
When: Dec 18th 2009
Who: 80 passengers
Why: On takeoff, the plane suffered a bird-strike. The flight returned to the airport and made a safe landing. Passengers debarked and were provided an alternative jet two hours later.
British Airways plane had to divert and make emergency landing at Cairo International Airport, Cairo, Egypt, on April 14th.
The aircraft en-route from Hurgahada, Egypt to London, UK, had to return shortly afterwards after a female passenger onboard fell sick.
The plane landed uneventfully.
The passenger was given medical assistance, and the plane resumed its flight.

What: Delta Airlines Boeing 767-300 en route from Prague to New York
Where: Goose Bay
When: Nov 13th 2009
Why: While en route, the crew detected smoke in the cockpit. After the flight diverted to Goose Bay, the cause of the smoke was determine to be a fan. After repairs, the flight continued to its destination.
On November 12, a Fed Ex flight also diverted to Goose bay for smoke in the cockpit.
All Nippon Airways flight NH-469 had to return and make an emergency landing in Tokyo, Japan, on February 19th.
The Boeing 777-300 plane took off for Okinawa, Japan, but had to turn back after the crew needed to shut down one of the engines.
The plane landed safely. All passengers and crew members remained unharmed.

What: Delta Boeing 767-300 en route from Salt Lake City to Paris
Where: Salt Lake International Airport
When: June 16, 2012. 7 pm
Who: 198 aboard
Why: On takeoff from salt Lake City, a left tire on the Delta flight blew. Pilots circled, performed a flyby and dumped fuel before they made a safe landing.
The plane was examined in the hanger, and passengers returned home when the flight was cancelled.
