    Tigerair Flight Diverts to Ho Chi Minh City Due to Burning Odor

    Tigerair flight TR-2993 had to divert and make an emergency landing in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on January 6th.

    The Airbus A320-200 plane heading from Taipei, Taiwan, to Singapore, was diverted after the crew noticed a burning odor.

    The plane landed safely. All 163 people aboard remained unharmed.

    Nesma Airlines Plane Overruns Runway in Abha, Saudi Arabia

    Nesma Airlines flight NE-154 overran the end of runway in Abha, Saudi Arabia, on April 28th.

    The incident happened after the Airbus A320-200 plane flying from Cairo, Egypt, landed during thunderstorms.

    The plane was towed to the apron. Everyone aboard remained unharmed.

    The incident is being investigated.

    Qantas Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Brisbane

    Qantas flight QF-123 made an emergency landing in Brisbane, Australia, on April 15th.

    The Airbus A330-200 plane took off for Auckland, New Zealand, but had to turn back due to an engine issue.

    The plane landed safely. All two hundred and fifty-eight people aboard remained unharmed.

    SAS Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Greenland

    SASSAS flight SK-945 made an emergency landing at Sondrestrom Air Base, Greenland, on October 12.

    The Airbus 330 plane, heading from Stockholm, Sweden to Chicago, USA, was diverted after the crew reported smoke in cabin. According to an airline spokesperson, “There was a smell of smoke in the cabin, which is believed to have been caused by a short-circuited coffee maker.”

    The plane landed uneventfully.

    All 146 passengers and 10 crew members remained unharmed.

    Airbus Eats Bird over Glasgow

    What: Thomas Cook Airlines Airbus A330-200, en route from Glasgow,SC (UK) to Dalaman (Turkey)
    Where: Manchester
    When: May 3rd 2009
    Who: 322 passengers and 11 crew
    Why: Over Glasgow, the left hand engine apparently ingested a bird; subsequently, the plane suffered failure of the left hand engine while departing (climbing over) Glasgow, then suffered slat failure. The crew was able to shut down the engine and land in Manchester

    Flat tire on Landing in Paris

    What: AirAsia X Airbus A340-300 en route from Kuala Lumpur to Paris France
    Where: Paris
    When: Mar 1st 2012
    Why: On landing in Paris, a main gear tire burst.

    Passengers for the return flight were provided overnight accommodations as a couple of tires and other parts were replaced.
